Travel on Saturday

edited April 2012 in General Charlton
Am planning on attending Arsenal vs Chelsea which finishes at around 2.30pm.
Will make my way to The Valley from there, my question is, how long do you think it will take me? And will i need to leave Arsenal early?

Don't want to miss us being crowned Champions!

  • If you want my honest advice, understand that days like this Saturday come very occasionally in most supporters life. Forget Mr. Finger Wagging Wenger and co, get to the Valley early, bring your camera, and soak in the atmosphere. You will remember it for the rest of your life.
  • I should have added get to a Charlton Pub and watch the Emirates game if you don't want to miss it altogether.
  • There's no way you'll be on a tube before 3. Would be surprised if you made the beginning of the 2nd half.

this, watch the Arsenal v Chelsea game in the pub first !!

  • dont bother with that game. From your post on here i believe you have been to nearly all the home and away games this season. Dont miss this one.
  • Only chance would be if you was on a motorbike and left five minutes early. Even then you would struggle
  • Not a chance of getting to The Valley before half time.
  • might just chance it and catch the second half! already paid now!

Why would you wanna go and watch that shite?
  • Getting train back from Arsenal is an absolute mare, honestly leave early if you want to get to Charlton for the 2nd half.

I thought you supported Charlton ? I wouldn't dream of going elsewhere if we're at home. It's up to you of course, but I don't understand it personally.

Why not just enjoy the game at the Emirates, and don't bother going to the Charlton game.
I would prefer it that way.

Sell your tickets to the Arsenal game, you should get a fair amount for them. Use the money to go and have a few pints in the sunshine (or more likely the rain) near the Valley and then watch us hammer Wycombe 4-0. Sorted.
  • Each to their own.

However for me, as a Charlton fan, there's only one place I want to be when we have a chance of taking the title.
  • I think we should leave Alex alone. His choice.
  • Aspiring to be a sports writer means I want to go to as many games as possible to write reports. Even if that does mean missing a part of the game.
  • Run out Emirates and grab the nearest BORIS bike and peddle like you have never peddled before!

You're never gonna make a sports writer if you actually attend games.

You just sit at home and make it up.

  • The TfL website suggests it will take an hour and 10 minutes to get from the Emirates to Charlton, and that probably doesn't take into account football related congestion, so leaving the Emirates at 2:30, it'll be a struggle to even get to The Valley in time for the 2nd half...

  • Do you own a jetpack?
  • Surely Jacko would have sent a motorcycle taxi if you'd have given him notice? Probably throw in lunch too being such a top bloke and captain 'n all...
  • Left emirates on 75mins. Arrived at the valley at 3-05.
