  • Brad has been excellent for us. Though I'm not sure how one single photo, categorically proves anything. I can't see him being so effective next season. He will be a very important player but we'll need someone who effectively runs channels to pull defenders around, against significantly better defences in the champ.

Hopefully will start great guns in summer, then we'll have to see. He ain't a player for winter in the champ when your whole outfield ten needs to be fighting and you need your strikers to be forcing defenders deep.
No doubt there are 21 other photos that might.

  • Amazing signing, anyone that criticises somebody with 22 goals really needs to take a look at themselves. He is the best goal scorer we have seen at charlton since Darren Bent. Ŵe have had an amazing season and I don't understand our supporters (a minority) for criticising our own players. Every single one of them have worked their arses off week in week out. Now take a look at the position we're in. See you in the championship lads!!
  • Top lad IMO and he can be as lazy as he wants if he gets us twenty two goals next season!

Agree with that, we will need a really good "Garry Nelson" type player to come in and give us the option of playing the channels rather than either looking long up to YK or playing through midfield.

Our front two are good but can look quite static at times, another option would be very useful.

    Already done -- Haynes.
  • A great player, sometimes I am at a loss for words regarding some of our alleged supporters. He has stuck the ball in the net over 20 times for a team that has just won promotion and long the way have broken many club records. When I hear people say he is lazy I despair, Brads job is to stick the ball in the net and close down defenders when not in possession. He is not a box to box midfielder.
Also I thank Powell for buying him and taking a chance on his (alleged) dogy knee.
And he is, I am reliably informed, better than Shaun.
  • 22 all from open play, Evans and Rhodes are on the pens at their clubs

He's so far scored more than 40 goals during the past 2 seasons.

Not bad for a player some regard as lazy and not bothered.

BTW there's a lot more to every striker's game than just putting the ball in the net.
Just watch the anticipation, movement and timing to make sure they are in the right position at the right time.
  • I have been very lucky and been able to interview him on a few occaisions, his determination to do well, not just for himself, but for the club is clear, he is loving playing for us right now, and was very grateful for the support of thre fans who continued to chant his name during his barren run. I am not buying the lazy player nonesense, he is an out and out goalscorer, we have spent years screaming out for a 20 goal a season player, well finally we have one, lets give him 100% backing.

    says it all really
  • He looks lazy. His body language makes him look lazy and disinterested so defenders think he's not paying attention and then all of a sudden, the ball is in the back of the net or the defender is panicing due to be under a lot of pressure. He's a great player.
  • Player of the year for me , he set us on our way early doors and sealed it yesterday.
In any other season he would have absolutely run away with the POTY title. It is tribute to this fantastic team that he'll probably make 3rd at best.

Have to say there's only been a tiny handful of disenters....mind you, I will say this, Bradley does/did sometimes have rather poor 'body language' if things aren't going right for him. I can only think he's been spoken to about it, because on a few occassions it was being interpreted by some as lack of effort, though not myself I have to say. I've not seen that side of him for quite a few months now, he keeps his head up, looks keen and sharp and that 'hang dog' aura that we saw on a few occassions seems to be a thing of the past.
He's certainly proved to be a huge success for us, to the point where he's become something of a hero, let's hope he carries his current form into The Championship.

Already done, BWP if required - go back & look at our very first game goal of the season. But since Yann came in BWP has been making fewer runs like that. I think BWP is really excellent in these spaces - he has the pace for sure.
  • i said saturday yep he has mnissed chances and looked off the boil so far today

then he had the 1 on 1 miss and the pass when he shouldve shot

someone said he should come off

i said he will score you watch

    then 5 mins later

    badda badda bing

we are up so fitting for him to get it imo
  • 22 goals, so far, and people are moaning about 'body language'. Does anyone on here actually make a living out of profiling?

No,judging by the amount of tosh these people are gushing.

BWP, you know by the way you've been supported this season how much you are loved here.

Egh Ted....who's moaning, certainly not me, quite the opposite in fact.

Yawn. What is the point of this thread? A few people got a bit frustrated when he didn't score for a couple of months, which was probably fair enough. A few people have misread his 'body language', which merely shows that appearances can be deceptive (cue Smokey and the Miracles' Tears Of A Clown) . 99.9 per cent of Charlton supporters are 100 per cent appreciative of what he has done.

Would any serious Charlton supporter swap him for Jordan Rhodes? I doubt it. Since JR's penalty to beat us back in March, Rhodes and 'Udders have played five games and lost four of them. We've played four and won every one of them. And BWP - whether he's scoring or not - is one of the main reasons why.

  • log on CAFC player and watch Bradders Tv interview superb, the lad seems to be like a jack in the box

but he sates when i missed the chance i was deverstated as i had heard from the fans weds were drawing

so when i scored it was just amazing

    we want the championship

get the feeling the boys are really single minded on the title SCP has an easy team talk saturday

Haynes is a decent player but has a shocking injury record, anything we get out of him will be a bonus.

I am thinking more on the lines of a Bellamy/Dickov like player who make runs between the centre-half and full-back and turns people around.
  • Would I swap a 6 foot two inch goal machine, who occupies defenders....... No I'd take them both in hypo-hypothetical world.
