All the more reason why those of you that have never been to a Richard Murray/ Bromley Addicks meeting before, to get along and talk to Richard personally next month.
Can only echo what everyone else has said, A great thread & lovely comments for a charlton legend. What he did for this club should never be forgotten!!!!
Bumped into the man after the play off final, he must have come onto the steps of Wembley Way to savour the moment with the fans. Much to my embarrassement I lambasted the board for our atrocious squad and form in that awful championship season. He gave me the best years of my football supporting years, and showed his class at all he did after the disastrous choices with Pardew.
Get well soon. I can't thank him enough for 97/98 and 99/00.
Great to learn that he is on the mend. We owe him a huge debt of gratitude. Keeping the ship afloat enabled the club to be handed over "in tact".
He may have handed over day to day stewardship to Messers Slater and Jimenez but I have no doubt that he will have thrown his weight behind the signing of SCP.
His stewardship gave me the 97/8 Play Off Final - the most incredible/memorable game of my life.
