I already booked my season ticket weeks ago, knowing that we would be in the Championship next season. Even when we were losing at home I was confident we would be up - and it will be as champions. Now I would like it to be with 103 points as I predicted this earlier this season but whatever points we finally achieve, this has been a wonderful season and so many records broken. The Valley will be THE place to be next Saturday at 3pm.
Personally, I'd like to see the club keep the same price as we've already paid for a one motnh window just to try and sell as many tickets as possible and try and fill the ground for next season...perhaps a free league cup ticket to those who bought before the deadline could be the sweetener in compensation, that's hardly likely to cost a lost given that it will probably be a £5 special...
No way. If you do that, next time there is an early bird offer everyone will think "why bother, it will be the same price later. All you get is a £5 league cup ticket"
I would like the club also give a small incentive to those who purchase season tickets now... A free league cup game sounds good or even a free friendly home game ticket?

And don't even think about a free shirt : - )
They could always throw in a Charlton life badge...
Scp has put together something that can be built on...filling the ground will help with the momentum...
The mechanics of a "free" cup ticket make it unlikely we will ever offer it. In short, because of the revenue split we have to pay for any comps we issue over a minimal number in the competition rules and intended to cover players and directors, etc. So every "free" ticket means we have to pay 45 per cent of the notional price to the opposition and 10 per cent - or whatever the figure is - to the ruling body, plus all the VAT, including on the 45 per cent that is ours, to the Revenue. If you did it for a minor cup game, most people wouldn't attend anyway, so there would have to be a system where people ordered tickets or we'd be paying for non-attenders.
Fair enough...how about free beer vouchers or equiv for use at a cup match...to be honest I don't need the compensation and just want to see the club try and sell as many tickets as possible but like Henry says the club needs to think about future seasons so there has to be something in the pot for those that coughed up before the April 5th deadline...
Easy to just say "give away this, give away that". The Club also has to generate income.
There was a great offer on the table to buy early, lots of people took it. Those that didn't will still get good value considering they now have guarenteed. Championship football
I suggest waiting to see what the new deal is before suggesting alternatives. We have a plan, which was devised some time ago, and has delivered 9,200 sales to date. Can't see why we'd want to change it at this stage.
£50 more wouldn't be unrealistic - couple of quid a game. Still great value for Championship football and it would encourage the 9200 early birds to repeat next year. As a previous critic of our early bird schemes, only fair to say the Club ( Airman Brown) got this one spot on, although a looming promotion obviously makes the task a lot easier. It would be good to know where we think we should out-turn on the back of 9200 now and a promotion boost - up to 13,000? Better away fan attendance in the Championship and a marked improvement on the home walk-up should push us close to 20,000 average without having to over-perform on the pitch. If we could match the performance of previous League One Champions, who knows....
Reckon you can probably use these figures to make a pretty accurate guess at the cost of renewing pre-deadline next season. £290 for Premier League Football in 2013-14 looks like great value!

All true fans have renewed already.
