Astonished that Alonso was scored a 3 / 10 by one poster. Would love an explanation of on what grounds ?

Team for Derby... + Fuller, Wilson and Solly of course... maybe Hulse and Frimpong figure in the starting line up or on the bench...
When you look at it this way it seems clear that the massive influx of summer 2011 has had to make do for at least 18 months and maybe 24 depending on what happens in the window

Without some of performances from Hollands and BWPs goals we would not have got promoted.
I would consider giving BWP a look in again now.

Quite what is the point of this thread?

Am I missing something or is it being used to illustrate that Chrissy's record is good or bad? Looking at some of those it seems there's a negative agenda underlying some of the scores.

You can't judge Powell's first signings in terms of how they're performing now. One Aim, and the signings he made achieved it. I doubt very much he imagined he'd have nothing to spend in the summer - and the only money he did spend, well Wilson's been a cracking signing.

    What he said.
The point of digging up this (and the other) thread from the end of last season is to illustrate that this squad is almost 100% CP and that it was playing good footy with great results all the way up to the latest 3 or 4 games... even without big money signings over the summer...

In this league there are no easy games and so looking for that next win needs good management, good support and maybe some luck too.

With the state of Championship club finances I'm not convinced that spending big money is the answer... and if CP were to go this would be very expensive since any replacement would want money for five signings so why not give CP some cash now to get us through.

I think you can because the gap between top of League 1 and the Championship is not that big as Brighton, Norwich, Millwall and Southampton have shown.
Most of the signings have shown real character and it is noticeable that there were no loan players in the team today! Today's first XI and performance supports my view that we are building a decent squad. It is unfortunate that we didn't bring in 3 x £1M+ players over the summer - equally we have had at least four or five players starting at left back! But we are here now and every player who got the club promoted has had their chance to stake a claim in the team / squad and for a new contract! It will take longer this way but maybe in 12 months time we will be looking a bit closer to top 6 ???
