Champions - Start Believing!

Talking to some Charlton fan's at the game against Walsall, Quite a few Charlton fans seem worried that will not finnish as Champions.

I know we do things the hard way, and Automatic Promotion is the main Goal,

But if we can back the players enough to belive, We can still be Champions, Its in our own hands.

The support vs Walsall in the first 10 was first class,

After that the fans seemed really nervous (Which is understandable)

But lets really try and push on and get behind the boys, 5 more points for promotion.

    We will be champions this squad ain't going to blow it now. Any other year we would have all ready been up and 4 points from being champions, credit to the two Sheffield clubs for pushing us all the way but they ain't going to catch us

    win our home games and draw 1 away and we are champions, simple. Sheff u have got to go to stevenage and MK scum so are going to drop points, Sheff W cant keep this form going especially if they go 1 down at home and their fickle support turn.

    Worst case scenario - 1 win and 1 draw and sheff w have to make up in the region of 20 goals. Relax and enjoy because we will be champions come may

    there is always a week when the pressure is on that all the teams in contention drop points when they should win, it always seems to happen and we all scratch our heads and wonder why? lets hope it starts tonight and continues until weekend.

    You're right, it does seem that only Charlton fans are worried. I don't understand all this tripe about "being a Charlton fan, we're used to blowing it, it's natural to worry when it comes to us". Rubbish. Every club apart from Man United have got some history of 'blowing' something in the last 20 years or so. Some fans just want to be miserable for some odd reason.

    The way some supporters talk about this club is amazing, as if we are prone to bottling absolutely everything!

    A couple of. weeks back after the win to yeovil


    It was 7 points more

    Now 9 points later its 2 more wins and a draw


    It does show that this league no matter how annoying and shite it is , has been competitive


    Top since September and weds and utd have kept plugging away


    Great decision by Milan to out that fool megson , good good leadership tbh


    Win sat and we are up , 100 percent I think we will get 9 out of the next 12 on offer

    This is a different Charlton team to the teams that have worn the red shirt in previous seasons. This is a team with not only skill but a team with bags of belief in their own ability. The way they played at Oldham with only 9 men and protected a one goal lead is something truly special. I cannot believe that there is one player in that squad who will not give a 110% over the last 4 games

    I would imagine that privately the team has set themselves a target of 100 points for the season and this bunch of boys will not blow it this close to the finishing line.

    All credit to both of the Sheffield clubs who have also been superb. It is a shame that one team is going to probably achieve 90+ points and still only make the plays offs but that team is not going to be Charlton.

    teams in good positions blow it - Spurs and Man City recently for example. We've seen a big points advantage steadily eroded, but that's what it was there for and what remains of it should still be enough - but it is by no means certain - despite what some on here were saying, both Sheffield teams have won their last four and could well win their next four, so we can't afford to slip up .... I doubt any of us think we will, but we are aware of the risk.

    How much did you have on it? Our squad looked great even with benson and Euell but I never thought champs. Perhaps a strong push with a 4th/3rd finish in my mind. Powell has done very, very well.

    No chance 3 will be enough for both, 4 should get promotion though with Wednesday's worse goal difference

    Only 20 .. I was relying on a 20 pound double .. CAFC @ 14/1 and WHU @ 9/2 winning their respective divisions .. to pay for a holiday in Sri Lanka or California or both .. the Hammers though have proved to be made of rubber rather than steel .. so it' Scarborough again ...

    Yup West Ham have ruined my bet too...I had Man u, West Ham, Us, Swindon and Celtic all to win their respective leagues. Just the bloody Hammers stopping me from having the most incredible summer ever!

    ouch ouch and ouch .. unless you did a yankee/trixie or two to soften the blow .. a three/four timer would be worth a few quid, especially as we were ridiculously understimated by the bookies in the close season .. Swindon would have been a decent price as well I should think .. as for Celtic and United ! ...

    Unfortunately not, just went for the single! Think the returns was something around 5 grand! Just makes me dislike West Ham more than I already did!!
