  • Hamer 7 - solid
    solly 8 - again superb
Morrison 7 - did well but there were a few nervous moments
    Cort 7 - see morrison
Wiggins 7 - slowly getting back to his best
    N'guessan 7.5 - well taken goal
Prichard 6.5 - got hold of the ball on a few occasions but was pushed off it a bit too often
Stephens 6 - didnt look interested however a few good passes
Jackson 7 - not the quickest but played his part
Kermorgant 8 - an extra point for managing to last the whole 90 minutes, what does it take to stop this guy!!
Wright Phillips 7 - did well but at times a bit lazy getting back into an onside position
  • "Stephens 6 - didnt look interested however a few good passes"
I agree he didn't have a great game, but why on earth would he not be interested? Be fair to the guy.

Strange how we all see things differently but Stephens certainly has his detractors amongst our fans. He was playing a different role today without the usual freedom he enjoys with Hollands. He is always trying to play it out and when it doesn't come off his languid style tends to count against him. I thought he did ok and imo certainly no worse than JJ or Pritchard across the middle.

ok maybe that was a bit harsh but at times he seemed to be a bit slow to react and there could have been a bit more effort at times. i do think however that he has been an important part of this team this season and his contributions have certainly pick us up some points (the screamer v bury for example) it just seemed today that he had an off day

Well if 6 was harsh then I have been what ever the next extreme on harsh is with my mark. I thought he was a liability today and gave away so many free kicks in dangerous areas and I struggle to see any positive contribution from him today.

  • Hamer - 8 Did not have much to do but when called upon the ball stuck to him like glue.
Solly - 9 Absolute powerhouse performance once again from Solly. Wouldn't look out of place in one of the top 4 in the premier league.
Morrison - 8 Once again solid and composed.
Cort - 8 Soaked up everything thrown at him.
Wiggins - 8 Got his blocks in and got some tasty crosses in.
N'Guessan - 8 Thought his 1st minute shot was in. Quality goal and performance.
Pritchard - 7 Broke up the Walsall midfield but let down a couple of times with his passing.
Stephens - 7 Looked a little bit off the pace today but still put in a good performance.
Jackson - 8 Great cross for the goal and got some decent balls down the wing and worked well with Wiggy.
Kermorgant - 8.5 Put himself about as usual, great vision to set up BWP chance and won fair share of tackles in midfield and showboated in a tight spot on one occasion in the second half.
Wright Phillips - 6 Started off OK but faded in second half, should have taken a touch for his chance.

All the subs particularly Haynes played well. Haynes gave us a bit more pace up front and won a few good headers and got the ball down. How he did not get a free kick for being hauled down late in the second half will be a mystery only the ref will be able to solve.

A chap who was obviously at the same game as me. Jackson also came in from the wing and was unlucky with a header.
  • Hamer - 7.5. Clean handling and positive coming off his line.
Solly - 8. Masterclass in fullback defending and linked up well with DNG on the right
Morrison -7. Allowed Macken too much room in first half but improved after about 30 mins
Cort -7. Solid display but allowed Ledesma room to gather and turn causing us to defend more deeply
Wiggins - 7. Under great pressure from Nicholls but coped well and then produced several excellent crosses
N'Guessan - 8. MOM. From the first minute he put Warsaw on the back foot, scored one, nearly got at second and put in several crosses (Waggy take note).
Pritchard - 7. Stole the ball a number of times and laid it off. Unshowy player but effective in mopping up.
Stephens - 6.0 His usual mixture of gloss and dross. There is a fine player in there but sometimes played the ball blind leaving us in trouble
Jackson - 5.5. Sadly was ineffective and exposed Wiggins early on.
Kermorgant - 6.5. Not as dominant in the air and for once his touch was indifferent but never gave up.
Wright Phillips - 6.0. Only given scraps and fought hard but the one good chance he had, he fluffed
  • Hamer 7 - couple of dodgy kicks and a couple of flaps, one good save, nothing really to do. Nice football form Walsall, but they never looked like scoring.
Solly - 7.5 - good performance again, but a couple of times he needed to pass instead of dribbling into trouble
Morrison - 7 - Had a good game, a bit of panic in second half.
    Cort - 7 - as above.
Wiggins - 7 - played well in defence and attack.
N'Guessan - 7 - great attacking and could have had a hatrick with a shot in the first minute and another near the end. Does not track back enough for me.
Pritchard - 7.5 - great energy and closing down, stated some good attacking moves.
Stephens - 7 - broke up the play and won a lot of defensive headers.
Jackson - 7 - great cross for the goal and worked well with Wiggins, went past his man it seemed about ten times near the end when I wanted him to square the ball.
Kermorgant - 8 MOM - the word has got around to smash him about and the Walsall defence kicked, pulled and elbowed Kermo, but he still got up.
Wright Phillips - 7 - good link up play and made a couple of chances for himself, worked hard.

What was the ref doing in injury time, Stephens hacked down, ref waited until the ball rolled to a Walsall player and waved for an advantage? Noticed he also hugged the Walsall centre half before and after the game, too friendly?
