The bad news.....

Sheffield Undies have shaved 3 goal off the goal difference this week-end (less than the average rate needed).

Er....that's it I think.

  • They can win all their remaining games 10-0 as far as I' concerned. We only need two 1-0 wins and a draw.

No we need four points assuming that SW don't go mad on the goal scoring front - our GD is =43 to their +29. If they do start winning 10-0 then we need five points.

  • United, not Wednesday - SU have 5 games left, so can get 97 points, therefore we need 98 if they improve their GD by 50 goals.

no, we need 5+ the goal difference.. so 6 points

12 points available, massive are 7 behind and UTD could be 6 tomorrow

Blahdy blah blah blah. Battling reds win 3 points and another 1-0 grinding win.

And Wendy is 8, read my lips, 8 points behind, so 1 win and 1 draw it is to be safe.

    Nearly there.

Kermy now beginning to look a bit weirdly indestructible.

Do you think we'll have N'Guessan on a permanent next year?

Only now do I feel entirely confident talking about next year...
  • Up The Addicks!!!
  • I think the original post is fair - we have been winning one-nil while our rivals for promotion have been scoring well.

If you don't agree then please post some form of sarcastic one word reply - perhaps with a question mark at the end of it.

I make it that Wednesday have 83 points so they are actually 8 behind no?

Wendy will not win the remaining 4 games, nor will Utd, and anyway we will probably win 3 of our 4.

And if Wendies are really trying to knock that goal difference down they are gonna have to start playing their goalie upfront from the first half.

But even if we don't 1 win and 1 draw and we're over that bloody line...

    special mentions?
  • Of course you have to see the funny side it could only happen to be Charlton that we have rivals that wont bloody give up!!

Although Wednesday will be pig sick that we won again and United will have a tiny bit of pressure on them now!

    Wendies win = plus 3
    Addicks win = plus 1

Wendies shave only 2 goals off the difference.

    Panic over.

    ;o)

I know what you mean, but I honestly think it's each other that they are racing against, if I was a Sheffield fan I doubt that I would be expecting to catch the mighty Addicks - they've left their run too late for that.

Having said that rationality doesn't seem to be a strong point for at least one of the By 'eck contingent.

yep, good point :) Excuse me, its been a long weekend
  • I love that we are seriously discussing goal difference.

8 points clear, one million goals clear, 4 games left to play having won our last 3 games.

F*** em! Catch us if you can!

"Over the week-end", i.e including Saturday.

Actually, I agree with Wheresmeticket. In isolation the Wendies have had a cracking week-end yet all they actually have achieved - unless United slip up tomorrow - is to make an insignificant dent in the goal difference. That must be pretty dispiriting.
  • Have to agree Sheff U have the pressure and I think Mr Evans has a court case Wednesday let us hope his mind tomorrow is elsewhere!!

  • Ah, fair enough, Hugo. I didn't read your post carefully enough.

  • This matters not, Utd will draw tomorrow.
  • I really don't care what the others do.

    It's all about us.

We get the points in the bag - and they can win 10-0, not bothered.

This would be my preferred result.

Still want Blades to join us next year, with Hudds winning the playoffs for once...god knows they deserve it.

    I agree Oggy.

I could not give a Hoot about the Owls and the those Blades are not as sharp as our sword. It's in our hands to win or lose this league. Win it we will after a few heart stopping moments

  • There is no bad news.
  • The bad news is for sheffield clubs full stop you are playing for 1 place

A win on Sat for us and it is all over

Just had a peep at Owls talk to see their reaction to their own win today.
    Came across this post:

    "Posted 09 April 2012 - 02:20 PM
Charlton have lost 3 of their last 6 games

We're only 5 points behind them

Our form and goals show we can and WILL catch them

We've leapfrogged the piggies and they're starting to lose momentum

First place is OURS baby.... "
  • That was posted before our match, and was inaccurate too. We had lost 2 of the last 6, which is still the case after our win today.
  • Every team in the division would rather be where we are than where they are. There is pressure on all of us, but we've still got enough points in the bag to be able to weather one slip-up or even 2!
