Tamer Tuna

edited April 2012 in General Charlton
Just wondered, what happened to Tamer Tuna? He was a promising striker, offensive midfielder. I read that he signed for Welling some time ago, and was loaned out to Bromley. But now I cant find him in any squad. Did he give up his career? Injury?

  • Ryman Premier I believe.
  • He went to John West
  • Erith town in kent league
  • I knew he had sunk really low though I believe he was briefly in Ryman Premier. But I think the lack of a REGULAR COMPETITIVE reserve team has made things much worse and hindered his career. I'm not saying he would have made it with us but I think je might have been playing higher. He came out of youth football and needed to play REGULAR COMPETITIVE mens football between youth and first team football.
  • Played 1, scored none for Erith Town
  • Wasn't he involved in the community scheme in some sort of coaching capacity?
  • Hope this isn't the way Tosan Popo turns out too.
  • Tamer is at Erith after a couple of moves about local teams, during the past year or so.........I have lost contact with him, but he was involved in the community training scheme as was his elder brother.
As stated above played 1 game...... 'Without Tyrus Gordon, Bradley Killick played alongside Tamer Tuna in a new look frontline but they got little joy from the hosts who took at 17th minute' lead'...... from there web site. I assume he is trying to get his match fitness, he needs a decent run of games.
  • I am not surprised. On the occasions I saw him I was not impressed and really could not see what all the fuss was about. However I wish him well wherever he goes.
  • Erith town's keeper is an addick, not that it's particularly relevant!

Shame there isn't a REGULAR COMPETITIVE league for the players to play REGULAR COMPETITIVE football in and that most teams have dumped their reserves team too

Now if the proposed U21 development league gets off the ground next season that might change.

    : - )
  • Thanks! Hope he finds a club that believes in him. Moving abroad might be an option.
