But he did not get a League chance until last Boxing Day, shortly after his demob. Yesterday's triumph was only his seventh League outing.

Werge's three goals were laid on by centre forward Stuart Leary, the man the crowd love to jeer.

Yet Leary is the architect of so many Charlton triumphs. After Werge's third goal Leary banged in one for himself - Charlton's 100th goal of the season."......
