Paul...is that Ron Noades ugly mug being used as the target? Hope you smashed it all over the place!! ;-)
    Yep: Was Henry's idea !

It was indeed. Having never seen the show I didn't realise you had to kick a ball at target so was wearing DMs. Still got one of my shots on target.

You can see how low tech/cheap and nasty the show was then. Think we were only the 5th set of fans to go on the show.
  • i reconize the tallish skinny blonde guy in the first set of pics, was always on the away coach from charlton, with the old girl who had the clipboard.
  • Brighton away and getting ready for the big match
Hey TellyTubby, pretty sure that's my cousin Kay in those pics.
    Talk about small world
Wow. I really do have a shit memory but Kay is one of those young ladies.

Say hello to her from me next time you see her. I only got in one of the photos as I took the rest.

Does she still go to matches?

Will the TellyTubby moniker mean anything to her?
If not message me your name and I'll pass on your message next time we speak.
    Cheers mate

Have tried a PM. Let me know if it works please Telly Tubby will mean nothing to her.

  • You don't need to be told that we lost this one.
I'm pretty certain that I remember that tall guy giving the 2 fingered salute, from The Covered End in the 1970's. He used to stand just in front of me, towards the back, slightly to the left of the goal, as you looked at the pitch.
I also remember the guy in front of him. Blimey we're talking about 35 years ago.
They both go by the name of Chris and that is indeed the location normally taken up in the old Covered End days. I saw the Chris in front a few years back at the Valley although his health was not so good. I went to school with both of them.

TellyTubby, I believe you posted your name on another thread, but I won't repeat it here just in case. Suffice to say I know you by sight and name, although we've never spoken (like about a 1000 fans I recognise but don't speak to).
You used to have a crash helmet with you, wore a leather jacket & have a blonde girlfriend/wife.

I stood behind you for donkeys years.

I have been sussed. As you know who I am, I hope that I never offended you:-)

Another person ID confirmed sir. I have made an enquiry to check my facts and will report back when updated. Do you have his current contact details? He might find this debate interesting.

Unfortunately no contact details. Last saw him about 4 years ago. He was married with a young son and was living in Margate. He did'nt make it to the Valley to often then. Lost touch when I left the job.
