Goal Difference this season

edited April 2012 in General Charlton
Am I wrong or does it all look a bit odd at this point

Only 8 of 24 teams have a positive GD
The team in 6th have a zero GD
The top 3 have a combined GD of 101

Bearing in mind the combined GDs for the league will be zero, this is very top heavy isn't it, much more skewed than the points.

  • Just highlights for me how far ahead in terms of quality the top four are compared to the rest this season.

i'd look at it the other way (shock horror) and say how shit the rest of the league really is
  • do you ever have anything nice to say

It's a good observation, but nothing that we shouldn't expect. By it's very nature goal difference should be more skewed than points. The worst team in any division will be able to sneak and scrape games by the odd goal. They will not get many big scores though. Better teams will usually win, and when things run their way, they'll win big. That's just the way things are.
  • i think its both a combination of a shit league and the top 4 or 5 being a damn site better. i believe the three that go up this year will survive in the championship comfortabley maybe with the exception of who gets 6th place and if they win the playoffs.
