@Rothko....it's noticeable that we are suddenly taking far more notice of who's reffing us in this poxy division and their part in our efforts to be crowned Champions.
This having come about of course after some truly awful displays recently from "the men in black''.
I don't generally moan about refs as I really can't see taht they are biased or that tehy favour one team over another.
BUT
the last few games have got my goat and I would love to show a recording of our last few games to a panel of refs and the FA and ask them to comment on:
the blatant push on BWP in front of the Covered end v Notts county that resulted in nothing the foul on Waggy v huddersfield that should have been at least a yellow - and the repecusions of that not been given. the trip on BWP by the Orient goalkeeper taht resulted in nothing.
3 major incidents in 3 consecutive games - and that does not take into account the assults on Kermy last weekend neither !
80 yellows in 27 games - is that really a lot? That's only 3 per game.
Anyway, I think this could work in our favour - too often teams have come to the Valley with a game plan to rough us up and the ref has let them get away with it.
golfie....I and a few others were at Scunthorpe and have already commented .........you should have seen the battering Kermy took there.........the treatment he got was akin to a second row forward in an international rugby match!
I think refs need to be aware this is going on as it is beyond the rules of the game and they need to look out for it. It doesn't mean you are a good ref because you don't give things to the bigger team - in fact, if you are missing things to try to show you don't favour the bigger side, it confirms you are a rubbish ref. I think we have been victims of that mentality recently.
I also think the Yorkshire ref at the Huddersfield game favours Yorkshire teams- why is this concept so hard for people to believe? You only have to look at the incindents in that game and how he helped United last week and then his record when Yorkshire teams are involved!
