Dressing up for the special day, home or away

I was just thinking about what to wear to celebrate our rise to the upper echelons of football society (it will happen). I've seen our fans wear fancy dress to away games (Hartlepool) and was thinking about a theme day/game. So as to not exclude the more mature/sensible members of our fan base i was thinking, how about we all wear our oldest replica shirt. It would be great to see a sea of shirts from across the years. I'm already thinking of wearing my Blue Woolwich away strip. Anyone up for it?

  • I will wear my Centenary shirt, hopefully with a pair of shorts designed to show my legs at their best, in other words the longest ones I can find !
  • Pig masks? ;)
  • White vest top, leather hot pants, ox blood dm's and a peaked cap.

  • Maybe if every one wore a Charlton shirt would be more impressive, if you haven't got one buy one and benefit the club at the same time, would love to see a sea of red celebrating as we win promotion.
  • With are favourite current player perhaps and we could turn our backs at certain time to show the thanks to the players, might be to hot to wear over jumpers sadly
  • Names over fav player on back I meant would be spine tingling to see
  • Tux

I will be wearing one of my shirts, possibly my '74 replica shirt. Also, a tiger costume.

I just don't understand the sentiment. Why would you have a problem with showing your colours like that? Just seems a bit mental to me, but I suppose that seems a bit mental to him!
Catty huh? Never been called that before. Maybe I'll add some whiskers to my outfit...

Imagine how pukka it would be if the club also gave us a flag to wave as well!!!!!!!!
  • Cause I don't wear a shirt I don't support the team ? I support the team in other ways trying to create a good atmosphere and still buy a season ticket even though I can't make 70% of the games due to
playing myself. In my book shirts are for kids

I never said you don't support the team. I'm sure you do. I just don't understand why you have a problem with the way other fans choose to support the team.
I'm not trying to annoy anyone, I just don't understand.

    But not for toddlers?

    LOL Friend or Defoe

Each to their own folks. I don't normally wear team shirts but me and Junior Deadred have got a good selection to choose from down the years and I'll probably wear my Killer #8 retro shirt from the 70's.
  • Wouldn't wear a replica shirt but people that do crack on. Money to the club.

Exactly. I don't like the look of them and can think of better clothing for £40. But those that do are putting money in to the club which isn't cringeworthy.
  • I know a lot of people don't like replica shirts, and fair dos to them. But it would be nice if everyone found it in them to wear the club colours. It really does look good to see a proverbial, "sea of red".
