First official moan - someone has too!! This is CL afterall.
Delighted for those not yet booked, if this comes off, but having been committed weeks back, not even knowing if we would get match tickets, we spent ages trying to find cheap routes. Ended up paying £83 I think out of Euston, knowing we will still need to pay another £20 on the day from Maidstone to London.
Could the club not have considered this earlier, when it was clear prices were steep but demand would be fairly high.
Like I say not a dig at the idea and i'm delighted for those not yet booked, if it happens!
Can you not get a refund 24 hours prior to travelling or is that only when you buy the tickets at the station. Know how you feel i lost my travel money when we were due to play Chesterfield.

It wont favour you T Org but it might for all those who were going to drive and maybe stop over, will it effect coaches already booked? Can they divert to the trian to increase numbers if needed?
it wasn't clear and still isn't so, don't see they could've said anything earlier - still haven't officially just gauging potential demand given a certain set of circumstances that probably won't happen.
Understand your frustration though - maybe nearer the day (if it actually happens) and if there is space they may be able to honour a limited number of general train tickets on the charter.

Agree - I spent £103 last night.
It may not even go ahead and then those who've already booked at a cheaper rate than booking now will be better off.
1976 it was. OMG a fair proportion of the posters on this board wouldn't even have been born then.
Indeed. A great day out even though we lost. Ipswich away by train was another good one but one of the most memorable train trips was Gillingham away in the Kent cup? the train had been literally dismantled by the time it got back to Charlton.
There could be hundreds of Charlton pulling in to Carlisle and knocking on the pub doors to open or on the other hand it could be a dry train, Pull in at 2pm and police escort straight to the ground....
hold up some people have already paid train fares £85 £105 regardless of results to be told there might be a chance for £50 train fare i make them right not having a go at anyone but if the £50 dont come off how many will be paying the £100
You can please some of the people some of the time all of the people some of the time some of the people all of the time but you can never please all of the people all of the time

and some people got it early for £38 ish. if i pay a ton now obviously they should subsidise me.

Club has done nothing wrong here, indeed they don't even have to be thinking about this - not many clubs would be.
Having said that at a nifty I am all over Carlisle but would like a beer/champagne on the way home please

Maybe we should just scrap the idea altogether just to keep the 'real' fans happy who already have it all sorted.
You're saying the club should foot the bill for those who have made a purchase totally unrelated and unaffecting to Charlton. Mental.
