Bit of a problem, isn't it? I'm sure we've come up against teams playing this formation through the season and overcome the hurdle but it seems to be a sticking point this month. Does anyone have any ideas to combat it?
How about if we were to go like-for-like and play 4-5-1/4-3-3?

Hollands/Jackson Russell/Stephens

I don't think this is such a ridiculous suggestion. First, it gives protection to the back four so Hollands/Stephens/whoever can get forward without worrying too much about leaving gaps behind them. Secondly, it allows Jackson time to recover from his niggle properly. We know that Wagstaff can play as a forward or as a right midfielder, and BWP loves to cut it from the left to take shots at goal (see Sheffield Wednesday at home).
Anyone got any genius ideas to put to Powell? :-)

Same defense. Not sure who'd perform best in certain areas in this formation but I'd like to see it.
I spoke to CP about it briefly and all he really said, apart from confirming that he does obviously think about changes of formations, was 'you fancy JJ as a holding midfielder then?'
I don't particularly as it goes but I wouldn't want to leave him out and think he'd do a decent job there, him and Hollands taking turns going forward etc, still in the team for his set pieces.
I personally am not too sure BWP would do as well anywhere other than as an out and out striker, hence I put Kermorgant in the 3, not him, whether it be on the left hand side or the middle.
