First minute the video was good - jitters etc. Then the next guy takes over and he talks rubbish. That guy aside, "they have dominated the league" - pretty positive. I think there may have been a few grinding games in the past couple of months, but it's pretty harsh to suggest we've managed to go so far, seemingly by chance.
Which team is it thats paying 17k per week for a player, the owls? If so, it's not paying off!
Usual sports journos, no real insight, talking generalities, unaware of any of the main players, and wittering nothings about big name managers.
We aren't the perfect side, but why? We do lack pace, but we tend to dominate possession. On the counter Wiggins, Solly, and Green can easily open teams up. At home in average matches we surrender too much territory. It's not that hard to do a simple analysis. I guess these guys rarely ever watch the football league show let alone league one in the flesh. All of down West Ham.
Although we have become largely predictable in our approach (hoof it up to Kermogant).......instead of our early season passing game, which was a joy to watch.
And we do lack pace ...... as often commented by many right here on Charlton Life.
Evans signed his contract at Sheff U when they were a Championship side looking to be promoted to the Prem.
Then the wheels fell off, they were relegated to the Third Div .... and Evans still has his contract running.
No relegation clause in his contract?? Great for him, but what idiot at the club agreed to that. The economic mismanagement at many football clubs never ceases to amaze me.
More than happy to grind out results for the remainder of the season. Of course we all want to see fast flowing entertaining football every week but the priority is simply to get out of this division asap. Also in fairness, I personally think this league is stronger this season, which is shown by how tight it is between the teams below us fighting it out for that 2nd spot and a play-off place. Really don't think Brighton would have had it so easy if they were here this time around.............

The same type of idiot that signed various Charlton players on fat contracts that crippled us in this division! It's a major problem in football, keep a strict pay level and face losing your best players for nothing, pay them too much and you can get stuck with long contracts as your team drops down the leagues...
Didn't think it was that bad, obviously they're not going to be experts on our squad.
They praised us but think we probably won't go up again like Southampton and maybe even Brighton look to be - seems fair to me, but some good signings can change that. Those clubs have better squads now and hopefully we will next season.
We don't play football like Brighton did, but we will mix it up and go long/direct if we have to. It's Southampton who are having the better season and pretty sure they can do the same.
Seems to me that we have developed a system in which we are normally very well disciplined, which works well away from home and not very well at home. If it gets us out of this division, all well and good. From what I've seen of our management team thay will be aware of and planning for, adjustments that will be needed in the higher divisions. One problem is that Kermorgant has been sussed as a real threat, and is now getting beat up by one or two monsters every game.
I suggested it in another thread ..... play Kermogant a little deeper in the hole, (behind BWP playing off the shoulder), where he can be played to feet and link better with our midfield against an opposition 3 x CM.
And playing him deeper means their CBs will get drawn out of position, otherwise he gets space in front of their defence.
He'll still be able to make late runs to meet crosses, perhaps without a marker.
Nearly all fair comment from pundits with no axe to grind. In the games I have seen this season we have played a defensive style of game and hit teams on the break. It has been a successful strategy so far. This method should be adopted at home, but if a more defensive style of play at home was to be employed, the boo boys and the impatient element would be on the players' collective back after 5 minutes.

There you are, Chris Powell - they've said it all.
;o)
haha, makes me laugh

I'd say they're half right about us. We do have a useful little fullback.
