Don't go, Grapevine49

@Grapevine49

I do hope you will reconsider your decision to quit the forum, expressed in another thread.

You are more knowledgeable than most of us on here and I, for one, value your measured and insightful comments. I share your views about the negativity and the post-defeat hysteria, but that's not all that is here -- is it?

  • I agree.
Don't go! I enjoy your posts as they are always logical, fair and well thought out.
More than I can say for some posters!
  • Grapevine, I value your posts, as I would guess, does everyone else. If the more enlightened posters leave, we are a poorer forum as a result. I trust you will reconsider after sleeping on it :-)

  • Value your contribution Grapevine, so hope you reconsider.

On which thread did grapevine say he was going?

The "Sorry Chris I have to disagree" thread.

  • get a grip. if the bloke wants to go let him go
  • And if I want to say "Don't go", let me.
  • why can't you just say that in the thread?

but yes i agree the forum will fall apart without him, the regular poster he is.

He's a good poster, so we should all be concerned about potentially losing someone like that.

Of course, if he just constantly slagged off our away support I daresay nobody would miss him.
    ;o)
  • im absolutely gutted about it. Don't go Grapevine..
  • Would prefer that he didn't go. Enjoy his contributions.
  • one of the best, well thought out, and interesting posters on the site, gutted if he leaves, don't go!
  • why can't you just say that in the thread?
To draw it to his attention.
  • Gotta say, this forum is only what we make it, and @Grapevine49, you add to the level of quality posts.
  • What does ''gutted'' mean?

  • What does ''gutted'' mean?
It means he feels like his guts are being torn out... Or he just feels sad grapevine wishes to leave.

P.S Grapevine don't go, as frustrating as this place gets, it also provides smiles and the odd laugh... (I have heard a few lifers laughs and they are odd, however they were laughing at my attempt to play football and worse still run!!)

I love the mixture of views as I'm sure you do, don't let fools like me drag you down!

    @Grapevine49,

Your posts are welcome shafts of clear sighted wheat amongst the chaff I and others are all too often prone to post on here.

This forum will be a poorer place without you so I urge you o reconsider.

  • He's not keen on fans standing but I'm glad to hear that Len is happy to welcome shafts. Still sitting LG?

  • if he don't like negativity then go on the man u forum the MASSIVES are worse then us
  • Grapevine is one of the best posters on this site. I hope he doesn't leave us.
  • I find myself feeling guilty for starting that thread, but reading it again I honestly can't see any reason for someone so well respected on this site to walk away. We all have to accept that we have a huge divergance of opinion, behaviour, and communication skills amongst members. Remember the old adage ' sticks and stones will break my bones, but names will never hurt me '. Please stay Grapevine and join others more intelligent than me to promote sensible behaviour on the site.

firstly your post was thoughtful and thought provoking and IMO no need to appologise, I do enjoy Grapevines posts but if he leaves then it is of no consequence of what you wrote, its a forum people agree or disgagree and if that causes people to leave and move on because it doesnt sit with how they feel at that moment in time then it is down to them.

  • One of the best posters who is able to express their view better than I ever could, but if you're unable to accept that others have a different opinion then the internet is sadly not for you.
  • I too enjoy Grapevines more measured views and would be sorry to see him leave however it was clear after two home defeats in a row there would be be some...ok a lot....of negativity about and if this is behind the decision to quit CL I would suggest checking back to some of the post Bournemouth threads as the antidote.

If anything, there was too much positivity knocking about for my liking when, as we've seen recently the job's not done. I try to adopt the Curbs approach of not getting OTT whether we win or lose. Not everyone wants to or can though and some wear their heart on their sleeve so each result effects their posts accordingly.

We've also had more than a few WUM and trolls come out of the woodwork in the last week.

Hopefully GV will give it a couple of days off and reconsider.
