Next Season's shirts

In the past we have released new shirts at the end of the previous season. My son want's a shirt (has never wanted one before) and his birthday is in May. I'm reluctant to buy him one that will be out of date almost immediately and there have been suggestions that the kit supplier might change. Irrespective, however, having had the current red shirt for two seasons it is almost certain that we will have a new one next season.

The club seems to be running on a more proactive basis now than it has in the last couple of years, does anyone know when we might be able to buy next season's shirt?

  • Just after everyone's summer holidays most probably ;-)
  • I would love one to take away on my holiday with me... thankfully we're going late August so guess I will get my chance. Would love them to start releasing them earlier if I'm honest.
  • You will probably get a current shirt very cheaply in May.
  • Yeah this season's shirt is the only one I don't own 'cos I hate it so much. It'll be a tenner by May. Then I can put it straight in the bin bag of Addicks shirts and pretend the shirt, and the division it belongs in, never happened.

    Disagree with you there totally.

Our current kit is the best one we had in years.

Strange how opinions could differ so. There's not a part of me that understands why you feel that way! I find it looks utterly uninspired. I don't know why there's a stick man on each shoulder. The white bits are random. I do like a collar, I must admit, and this has not got one. It's not remotely distinctive. Who the hell are Macron anyway? It's like we went to a Poundshop and had change for a large bag of Minstrels.

It could be a shirt from a Sunday league selection imo. I was very happy with the last shirt, that was my ideal CAFC shirt - collar and a stripe. Smart and classy! Wish we'd kept it longer.

Just posted exactly the same in another thread. First kit in 3-4 seasons that ive actually wanted/bothered to buy.
  • I have always prefferred a shirt that has as much red as possible on it so did not like the one with a stripe, quite like the current but would have preferred a collar,my "recent" favourite is the Back to the valley Shirt, ok maybe not that recent but when you get to my age it is,
  • This has been my favourite shirt as well. Really glad we had it for 2 years

There's not a part of me that gets why adult men would want a replica shirt tbh. Haven't owned one since I was a teenager. I know that I'm odd in this respect and you only have to look around on a match day to see I'm in a minority but I just don't understand why you would want to spend £40(?) on some nasty looking piece of nylon. Still all money for the club tho...

I wear mine regularly, not just at the match.
Its a solidarity thing I suppose. I like to wear it, its a Charlton shirt and I'm a Charlton supporter.
I have 4 years shirts, can't wait for next years one!
  • I don't wear the things outside the house anymore, it's a collection that I feel compelled to continue after all these years. There's only one I haven't got since 1985, and that shirt, horrible as it was, haunts me! Literally, it appears at my window at night and flies away before I can grab it.

Stunned that this season's boring, no-mark, generic lower-league shirt is so popular, but as you say, it's all good for the club.

    £40?

Mine was £72 with the lettering on. It's the first i'vehad for a few years and my daughter's bought it for my 40th. I've worn it to all the games since and it's seen more wins than any other shirt did. I like it for the memories i've had whilst wearing it, including promotion last week. I'll probably get the new one though and put the Champions shirt in retirement.
  • I use mine to play in, I dont mind showing it off to other like minded people.

  • I'm definitely getting the gold arm badge!

I want the real deal, gold arm badges name and number.

Dazzler21 shirt will return (the last was nicked from me!)

Me too! Just you try and stop me!

I hope we wear them against Hartlepool!
  • will the club shop have the gold badges already , they might wait till the new AdidasUmbroNike kit turns up.
