The trainline would cover all trips, or eastcoast trains for the north east, virgintrains for the north west. Generally speaking, tickets become available 10 weeks before travel, this is the time to get tickets when they are at their cheapest. £22 return to either Liverpool or Manchester, on the day could be £70
