You're all too young. George Best was probably the best player of all time, especially when you consider the type of tackling he had to endure. The same goes for Maradona. Messi is, of course, exceptional but he doesn't get the same physical attention as players in the past.
Not particularly active at the moment though, is Bestie?
And your comment about Messi not getting kicked about is laughable - I've never seen a player get more battered than him - he gets the f*** kicked out of him in every game.
Iniesta and Xavi are both better players than Ronaldo.
I can't believe people are saying RVP is the third best player in the world. He's having the season of his life, but every other season has just been 'ok'. One season does not make the player. Unless you ask Kenny Dalglish.

This year 34 (3), 32
116 (18) Appearances, 84 goals Stats for last four seasons. Wouldnt class that as a one season wonder
Bags of ability and not backed up my the most consistent of top teammates
I'd go with Iniesta. His passing is superb but his movement is something else. He just manages to ghost around the pitch without even trying and he's never in the wrong place. Xavi is a better passer but not quite so influential and Ronaldo can be frustrated by good defending. Ashley Cole used to ruin his day
Slightly off thread some young Dutch addicks who went to Chesterfield last week asked me who was the best player in the world who I had seen over the last 50 years and I said it was a toss up between Pele, Maradona and Messi before his 5 goals the other night. Expanding on that I told them the best keeper was Gordon Banks, defender Bobby Moore, midfield (half back) Franz Beckenbauer, wide man Johann Cruyff. My definition of world class being, would they be selected if a team of Marsians landed for the semi final of the Universe cup? Back to the thread I go with Iniesta for third spot.
I'd say Ronaldo is better than Messi. Better goalscoring record, faster, stronger, and better in the air. Messi is obviously second with third place going to RVP simply due to the way he's playing at the moment. Absolutely immense!

Looks as if it's Iniesta for third spot then. Can't argue with that.
