Bad Omen?

edited March 2012 in General Charlton
I have been unable to attend Charlton regularly over past few seasons for various reasons which has led to me going every now and again. My run of not seeing us win now extends to 3-4 years ! I've been a few home games over this period, and the odd away game, but have yet to see us win since our championship days. Bit worrying to be honest! It's been suggested by a friend of mine I steer well clear until promotion is secured... Anyone else this unlucky?!

  • No, it's all your fault.
  • Apparently I'm the Valley jinx but this year I may get to shake off that tag if we go up:)) I'll be the lucky charm suddenly:)))
  • I haven't been too often this year. Half a dozen games or so and they've all been poor results or poor performances or both. I think I'll leave a while again.
I do have 100% Away record though and don't intend to risk losing that.
  • I can proudly report that last night's defeat was entirely the fault of my mate Steve - who hadn't been to a game at the Valley all year. As he is The Ultimate Jonah (tm), it should have been clear from the start that we would lose. Sorry.
  • both of their fault
  • Keep attending it is not your fault.Last season matches i attended Exeter home and away 2defeats.Brighton home and away 0-4 and 1-1 against ten men.Dagenham away the worst game i have seen 2-1 defeat.Rochdale and Bournmouth away defeat and draw.Last but not least Hartlepool at home a Big bore NIL-NIL.
Still keep coming back it is not the fans but the team,we all have off days at work.
  • I've seen 7 wins and a draw away, so far! That has to be the best run i will ever see in my lifetime.
  • No, don't worry, it's my fault. I couldn't find any red socks to wear to the match on Tuesday.
  • I washed my scarf at the weekend..............sorry.
  • A good omen though - it's 12 years since we finished first in Division One... and in 2000 I was also 12 years younger than I am now... spooky!

  • Vince and Scare's first game for six months, my old partner in crime on Goodbye Horse, Kev Porch's first home game of the season. It's down to them. Thought it was me for a few years, but went to Brentford, so laid that ghost...
  • My fault. I drove two Colchester fans to the game. Always happens.
  • last game i went to, we lost to Palace - haven't been since!
  • I thankfully have had the opposite effect -touch wood.I don't get to many games due to work and and the distances involved. Ive not seen us loose since the season before the one we got promoted to the Premier league.I know that the run started with us at home to Tranmere, which was the last game me and my Dad went to together before he died, and since then with about three or four games a season, less in the Premier days due to difficulty getting tickets, Ive yet to see us loose! Many of these were away games.Previous to this I went to a lot more and saw us loose more than a few!
My last game was Sheffield Utd away and my next game will be Carlisle away!!!!
  • As mentioned in the Match thread, it's my son's fault. His school gave free tickets for the match, so I moved to the lower east to join him. The previous time he went was Brentford in the JPT.

He's now been 7 home games since 2008... and we've lost every single one. Even one of the girls in the shop joked I shouldn't bring him any more!
  • Its the best season for years and the first time in my life that I have given up going to away games on a regular basis and I have also missed some home games even though I am a season ticket holder.

I worked out I have only seen us win 4 games this season!

Missed MK, but was there for Rochdale, Bury, Col U and all the other painful draws.

    I blame my children!!
