Half time... What the f*ck?

edited March 2012 in General Charlton
Aint just me trying to find something to moan about, but stayed up at half time for the first time Tuesday night at The Valley... What was that 'film trailor' all about!? Unless i'm missing something; thought it was a bit embarrassing tbh

  • I said exactly the same on another thread, made me cringe....no idea what it was meant to do, but playing it before we're even promoted was even more embarrassing
  • Agreed but I presume it was some sort of attempt to try and promote the club / team etc. ahead of next season to all the part-timers / one-offs who turned up at Stevenage to boost sales for the rest of this season / next season / season tickets etc
  • I thought it was cringeworthy. What the hell was the thinking behind it?
  • Yeh, wasn't sure what to think really. A bit strange.
  • I thought it was good (although perhaps a bit premature) and it gave me shivers, BUT, the writing was FAR too small. I've got great eye sight, but was sqinting from the furthest corner in the west upper and didn't catch all of it.
  • From what was said over the PA is was a test for a cinema advert planned for the build up to next season.

Well they need to re-think that because I'm a Charlton fan and a) I didn't get the point and b) it is naff.
  • Nothing wrong with that.

If we can't self-promote no ones gonna do it for us.
  • I've been saying it for the last couple seasons, the Valley has got so much cheesier since I gave up my season ticket. Addicks FM, dramatic music on the big screen etc. Never used to be that corny.

  • I dont really see the problem with that, i thought it was fun but i can understand why some dont like it.
  • thought is was ok to be fair
  • I thought it was alright?
  • Nothing wrong with that.

Fair point. Only self can self-promote

  • tis okay, could've used some better goals perhaps
  • Nothing wrong with it..
  • It was played at the start of the season
  • Don't see the problem ... Promotes Charlton and it's a bit of fun
  • That's alright.
  • I don't think there'e anything wrong with the film at all.

  • The film itself didn't seem to say much, but when it finished there was an announcement about season ticket prices for next year. i think the two things belonged together, i.e. we're having an amazing season, make sure you get your season ticket.
  • Well I did not see it but if its embarrassing for anyone then I am sure our performance in the match and position in the league helps make up for it.
  • I'm amused to compare some of these comments above with the ones from when it was first shown in September... http://forum.charltonlife.com/discussion/comment/1009126#Comment_1009126

Saw no problem with it at all apart from the writing could have been a bit bigger for us in the North stand..
  • It's not that bad, is it?
    Nothing wrong with that.

    Completely agree.
  • So it was brilliant in september and rubbish now...most be a slow news day for moansville..looking forward to I thought the way BWP celebrated his fourth today was embarrassing blah blah...
  • Pure cheese. My Pompey mate just looked at me and laughed.
  • the sort of thing Palarse would do
  • Yeah, lets not promote what is turning out to be a great product.....
