Is there a Charlton fanzine?

As I have to find work experience for something related in the media for my college course, I was wondering if there was a Charlton fanzine? As I've got an idea for an article but I need to find somewhere that would publish it? It would be great if any of you guys can help me out, cheers

    Sadly not Greenie.
Voice of The Valley......(been out of print for many a year) was a fabulous read........but as I say, sadly no more......greatly missed by many I may add.
  • Cheers sound as, looks like I'm gunna have to go back to the drawing board, I have emailed news shopper with my idea so fingers crosses
  • If I may suggest, why not Inbox Henry Irving.....if anyone on here can help you or point you in the right direction, I'd say it was Ben.
  • This site is a close to a fanzine as you will get these days. In-box admin and ask them about the article.
  • Its deffinitly something id subscribe too if they were ever put into production

Paradoxicly, it's largely due to the internet that fanzines are now pretty much redundant.
  • Why not write it for this site? Or write it and see if the club will take it for the website or programme. Or submit it to the locals, you'll probably have better luck if you actually write it first rather than just submitting the idea as you don't have any history therefore they can not guarantee it will materialise or what quality it will be.
  • or in the spirit of '77 just do your own fanzine and sell it/give it away at the Valley.

No doubt, although you cant beat actually holding what you are reading. Its like the people that use a kindle instead of a book, it loses a lot of its charm imo

  • If you write for the Newsshopper at least you're guarnteed it won't be as bad as some of the sh*t that the 'bloggers' put out.

Yep, in-box them and remember to call AKFA "Sir" and Lookie "Melissa" if it's the weekend.

  • You could also do your own blog or guest on one of the more active blogs, such as Dr Kish

Greenie I've sent you a message.

As I've said before, we encourage anyone / everyone to get involved and write articles, and well help promote them. More article content is something I've wanted for a.long time. It can be serious, parody, light hearted etc, as long as its got some context we'll help you.

If anyone ever has any ideas, just send me an inbox

As long as ....you finish it ... ?
  • Ha, stupid phone
  • Greenie - have you seen that newish footy mag "late tackle"

feels like they could use some help
  • I'll look into it, I got a reply from The News shopper and they said basically that they couldn't have it in there paper as it's a Charlton paper and that the readers wouldn't be interested in Bournemouth fans views, which is a fair enough point, I was also advised to get int contact with maybe a Bournemouth newspaper to see if they would be interested

GJ I know this might seem pedantic but if you're going to write anything, make sure your grammar and spelling is correct, such as the difference between 'there' and 'their'. Good luck

    Are correct :)

I've got some free time at the moment and have written a lot of blogs and articles in the past, but have never done a proper one on Charlton. I did a few for BT's football site last season but there wasn't much I could do with 200 words a time, so I'll have a think and see if there's anything that I can contribute too.

It's fine constructive criticism is welcome

You need some punctuation between 'fine' and 'constructive.' I think a semi colon (;) would be appropriate.
