Alex Song - top man to give up

edited February 2007 in General Charlton
A cup final place to come to us. He would no doubt have played a part in the Cup final this weekend. So hats off to the fella.

Sorry if this has been said before but I haven't been reading much lately.

  • Good point Ledge, lets hope he is the real deal and gives us something in the midfield, good signs so far both on the pitch at manure and as you say, he gave up a certain final start!
  • God - I had forgotten about him already! Great performance at OT - hopefully he can live up to that and we can see a steup up inthe quality of our midfield. And ZZ wasn't too bad, certainly worth a spot on the bench.

What is our team line up likely to be on Saturday?

    Carson
    Young, HH, El Karkouri, Thatcher
    ???, Holland, Song, Rommedahl
    Bent, Bent
  • That is assuming Bougherra is not fit and the others are - I'm pretty sure that would be 10 of Pards' seelctions, but who would the other one be?

Faye - might be first thought but any good out wide - could swap with Holland maybe?
Hughes - good in the middle but not out wide
Kish - could give us some battling qualities we may need but out of favour - but okay in a wider position
Thomas - injured and too erratic anyway
Ambrose - in favour at OT but has shown nothing this season
Lloyd Sam - would be my choice if fit
  • Did you forget ZZ as well?

Faye, might be good out wide, just wide of the touchline, a little futher towards the bench.....

....just a little higher, above the dug out, there you go, in the stands.

Can't ask a Charlton fan to give up their seat for him, just give Faye Saturday's off altogether!
  • ZZ is up for consideration too - I suppose I would rather have him on the bench and start with someone more familiar with English football. I think he will need a few subs appearances to start getting a feel for the game - and for us to see whether he is good enough.
