2,500 each. That's a bit stiff. Rules out 99.9% of fans. Wonder what the reasons behind it are though. Will bring in 12,500 quid max less expenses. In the grand scheme of things, peanuts to Charlton (or is it?). I suppose every little helps.
They want some wealthy guys to pay for the flights for the squad.

was part of that. seem to remember getting a winged pin badge.
I'm guessing the flight was a tad less than £2.5 grand. I flew to Middlesbrough for Operation Riverside and that was great, but again, it was way less than £2,500
I dont get why they never chartered a bigger plane and forget the hotel nonsense, just charge £100 PP. That should cover he players costs (plane holds 180 people @£100 = £18k. Perhaps another score to cover coaches from Newcastle to Carlisle.

Exactly Robbo..........now that would have made a lot more sense and there would have been plenty of interest I'm sure. Bit of a missed opportunity I'd say.
It would have been better if this daft idea had been shelved rather than to open the board up to ridicule and resentment. If any of them had ever read the threads on this site they would have realised a) how few fans we take to away grounds (see Ooah's numerous posts) and b) how many fans find it hard to afford to go to games: the two are linked. It is a bit of an insult to 'offer' a place at such a cost.
Because 150 fans on a plane wouldnt get a look in with the team and the players would just get harrassed by everyone and annoyed.
I'm sure teams have travelled by plane in the past with the fans and there's been no problems. I wonder if the club might consider a plane for the fans on the day of the match.
That will be a great couple of days if you read the full offering. For £500 you don't spend any time with players or management. Only downer is who wants to watch it in the directors box when you could be singing along with the travelling hordes? And I'd be most of the way to Carlisle by the time I got to Stansted. And not much headroom in those private jets. And I ain't got a spare £2500 lying around!

IT'S NOT ROCKET SCIENCE FFS.
What Falconwood said.
We're not rolling in cash as a Club so it makes sense. Not for me but clever move by the Club IMHO to find a way of covering the cost of the flight.
If your wealthy and you have £2500 burning a hole it's a one off thing that you can't go down the high street or on the net to book every day of the week. If you've no arse in your trousers then you can't do it, simple as that.
Club have shown a bit of initative.Don't see what the problem is.

Im sure there have been no problems but its not exactly a special treat. Having dinner with the team the night before and a few drinks at the bar with CP after. If I was a wealthy sod i would do it. Good luck to anyone that does it.
This stuff has been going on for years at other clubs, and possibly at Charlton, where it is outside of the budget for flights, or at a lower level overnight stays for long distance games, and known wealthy fans are approached in whether they would like to subsidize it with an attractive package.
It's not for me or you, but it might be for someone else. This is just a way of making this process a bit more public.
executive place in my ageing Renault Megane - Shropshire to Carlisle a snip at £500, il throw in a packet of crisps and promise not to play my Leonard Cohen collection.
I agree, I don't think of it as an insult in any shape or form............if someone has that kind of money to spend better they spend it on helping to finance the club than a week in the Bahamas. You never know, there might be some takers.

Looks like I'll have to give it a miss.

I'm glad the club have at least put it out there, if you don't ask.....
