Pouso is presumably going back to the club from whence he came - he was some on sort of complicated loan I think.
but have I missed something - "where" is Sorondo going? Are we paying up the rest of his contract etc. ???
Shame really re Sorondo, sometimes signings don't work out due to personality clashes with Manager, or fans hounding them out. In sorondo's case he was just really unlucky with injuries. From the very few games I saw, he may of lacked a bit of pace but was certainly a pretty decent centre half. I remember the game vs Arsenal on Boxing Day was it, Sorondo in the team part of 8 changes Curbs made trying to break a losing run (sound familiar) Sorondo kept Henry fairly quiet that day until that **** Fabregas broke broke his foot putting him out for another three months.
He is also surplus to requirements. Herm, ELK, Magic. Diawara, Fortune. Were well and truely covered. I assumed he was still injured but the club announcement seems to suggest that he has been fully fit for some time or have I missed something?
Sorry Ketman, I disagree that Sorondo was merely unlucky with injuries. Don't forget that he spent the best part of his season at Palace injured as well. Anyone can have one injury plagued season but when you have three in a row, and none of them involving major injuries, then you have to wonder how much the player actually wants to get himself onto the field and play for the club. He was picking up a fortune for sitting on his arse for nearly two years with us so why should he bother pushing himself to get fit or play through the pain barrier. Here in Oz, the injured Aussie Rules and NRL players bust their nuts to get fit and back playing as soon as humanly possible [some even play with broken bones] because they are terrified that the bloke replacing them will take their spot permanently, not something that seemed to concern Sorondo.
