My take on the England situation after this game....let Harry pick and take the squad to the Euro's, then Pearce stays in charge until after the next world cup (it's in Brazil so we've no chance of doing anything out there), blood a good young squad (with Harry's input) for 2 years ready for him to take over after the WC and prepare for the Euro's in France and then WC in Russia (I think?)....that way Harry gets 2 more years at Spurs and probably takes them as far as he can, keeps his hand in with England cause he's on a hiding to nothing taking a squad to a WC in Brazil, for me only Brazil, Argies and Spain stand a cat in hells chance of winning out there (even the likes ir Ururguay and Mexico will have a better chance)....and then picks up a hopefully decent squad he's had an input on ready to attack 2 far more winable tournaments.
Let's face it whatever age the players are not world class. However by changing the internal dynamic of the squad we might be able to get them playing as a team (for each other). For this to happen all of the old guard have to go permanently. Any team that plays as a unit and for each other has a chance to win because they become more than the sum of the whole. As this is a squad for the euros and then the next world cup I wouldn't pick anyone over 30 either.
Goalkeepers: Scott Carson (Bursaspor), Joe Hart (Manchester City), Robert Green (West Ham United).
Defenders: Gary Cahill (Chelsea), Ashley Cole (Chelsea), Leighton Baines (Everton), Glen Johnson (Liverpool), Phil Jones (Manchester United), Micah Richards (Manchester City), Chris Smalling (Manchester United), Kyle Walker (Tottenham Hotspur).
Midfielders: Gareth Barry (Manchester City), Tom Cleverley (Manchester United), Stewart Downing (Liverpool), Adam Johnson (Manchester City), Steven Gerrard (Liverpool), James Milner (Manchester City), Scott Parker (Tottenham Hotspur), Ashley Young (Manchester United), Theo Walcott (Arsenal).
Forwards: Darren Bent (Aston Villa), Fraizer Campbell (Sunderland), Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea), Wayne Rooney (Manchester United), Danny Welbeck (Manchester United).
This would be my general squad going into the Euros. Past generational has tried, failed, failed and failed again. I want to see something new. Brackets are more experimental players.
GK Hart LB Baines (Gibbs)
CB Dawson (Ferdinand) CB Smalling (Jones)
RB Richards (Smalling)

The worst thing is most of us can see that a 4-4-2 is not the way to go in internationals. Anyone want to bet against a 4-4-2 lining up against Holland next week? And for that matter the Euros?

That collar looks rediculous
Now that's stunning, when they showed the new navy blue kit I hoped it meant the home was switching to red, but instead Hart gets the red kit
The home shirt is back to being white shorts and socks, so no navy shorts whatsoever

I do not understand why the coach of the U21s needs to see the youngsters more.

danny graham deserves a place more than him.
You cant go 100% kids if they get battered it would ruin them.
The likes of Cole, although I am not a fan, have never let England down IMO, why dump him just cause he is a bit of a tw*t.
It will be the same old faces except for suspension and injury ....maybe just maybe one or two surprises on Bench.
Odds are if he gets a good win and harry says no ....pearce could be fav for job
Might be able to show pride in supporting England then.
