I have been keeping close tabs on just how strong our position is, especially as now the games are starting to run out. With Sheffield Wednesday losing yesterday it meant that they are no longer able to achieve 100 points, most they can get with 14 wins is 99. MK Dons can still get 100 and Huddersfield 103. Ignoring Sheffield United as we are talking promotion here not title. Relegation form is about 1pt a game, so if we play like a relegation team until the end of the season we will finish on 84 points. If Wednesday, MK Dons and Huddersfield continue picking up points in the same way as they have throughout the season ( roughly 2pts per game less 10% ) they will finish on 82pts, 84pts and 81pts respectively. So, in order for us to miss out on promotion, we would have to play like a relegation team and one other team will have to increase it's own form to nip us on the line. Complicates? Probably, but these odds and statistics now change week by week. By next Sunday I would suggest we book the hall !!!
