Da Je Vu

edited February 2012 in General Charlton
Don't want to scare any one,but after that play off final we went up to the promised land but only for one season.
The next season we raced away and built up a good point lead only for it to be pecked away through to the end,we still made it but it was getting scary, hope that doesn't happen this time.Been a long hard, slog of a season...players getting tied, injuries creeping in,lets hope they can hold it together..they deserve it.............is it right Curbs getting Wolves job?

  • I think I've seen this before.
  • Yep, we've certainly made a habit out of squandering leads.

1974-75 Div 3. I believe we were 12 points clear at one stage - promoted by 2 points in 3rd.

Much the same in 1980-81, Div 3. Eventually promoted by just 3 points in 3rd.

1999-00 2nd tier. Having squandered a 15 point lead, 2 points clear winning the title, promoted by 4 points.

Just goes to show that the only thing to fear is ourselves.
As NS Steve would say ...... ONE AIM
  • I like the Russian/French combo.
  • Is that similar to déjà vu?
  • I'm still trying to work out what elements of the periodic table that represents - and what the valency of such a compound would be...
  • Daves Old Shoes? - this should be in the shoe thread, admin move it please.
  • It's De Ja Vu all over again.
  • Funny that the nearly identical thread was started by Robert and this one by Addick4ever.

Split personality or two different log ins?

    or just de ja vu

  • True but we still went up as champions even if it did take a fair few matches to get there. I would happily take that this season. After all we knew we were going up pretty early, it was just champions bit that took a while.

if Crosby Stills Nash and Young are brought in to bolster the midfield, we could be knackered( but we would finish on a high)

Or we might be Helplessly Hoping, like Wednesday fans
  • More like a celebration in the beautiful 'Suite Judy Blue Eyes'
  • we might have a 4 + 20 goal difference and they could help the Academy to teach the children

  • How long can this thread 'carry on' ?
  • until we're helpless(ly) out of titles
  • or until the wooden ships come in
  • I'm getting déjà vu and amnesia at the same time. I can't remember if I've seen this thread before.
  • when it comes to looking back, nostalgia is not what it used to be .. but 'Deja Vu' is one of the best albums of ALL time
  • or until the wooden ships come in

Check out the Jefferson Airplane version on (I think) 'Volunteers'
  • Secret video of Chartlton's new stadium being built

  • it looks more like all you old volunteers grazing in the grass while rebuilding the Valley
  • Great Stephen Stills track from Manassas, too. Maybe the Wendies & Udders fans can sing it to eachother when they meet - Both of Us (Bound to Lose)
