It’s football vs. a bunk up on Valentine’s Night.
Since Dale Stephen’s rocket to rescue a point against Bury a fortnight ago, Charlton fans across the land have been getting twitchy with the lack of action on the pitch and will relinquish the ‘guarantee’ of action at home to head down to The Valley to see the Addicks take on Milton Keynes. Weather dependant, Tuesday evening’s game is an opportunity to open up an incredible 18 point gap to the franchise club that not so long ago were considered one of the real threats to one of the automatic promotion spots. With Sheffield Wednesday failing to take advantage of playing when nobody else is, and the rest of the top six playing each other on the same night, Charlton have a real chance to push on entering what is now going to be a congested run-in.
Karl Robinson’s men have not been on a great run recently having only won two of their last eight games (although draws against Sheffield Wednesday and Huddersfield are not to be sniffed at), but having the second best attack in the league away from home (1.87 goals per game), Milton Keynes will be a threat to Charlton’s unbeaten home record. The Addicks have only lost once to Milton Keynes, a 2-0 defeat in March last season where Paul Benson got sent off, but a memorable 5-1 victory but in November 2009 is one a few good memories of the past two seasons that Chris Powell would love to see a repeat of.
There are generally two schools of thoughts in terms of having two weeks ‘off’, the first is that the players will be well rested and raring to go and the other is that they will have lost their match sharpness and will need some time to get back in the groove. The way in which we had lost our ‘flow’ in recent weeks (albeit still with some great results) suggests that the rest may be a positive to recharge the batteries and attack the remainder of the season with the verve and purpose that we did at the start of the season.
Other than Daryl Russel who still has one game of his suspension to run, Chris Powell has a fully fit squad to choose from and we shouldn’t see too many changes from the last time out. Other than Bradley Wright-Phillips coming back into the fold in place of Leon Clarke, the almost impenetrable defence will remain the same with Dale Stephens continuing his comeback in the centre of midfield alongside Danny Hollands. Danny Green will be hoping to step up his game a gear or two as his application and consistency seems to have waned in previous appearances with Johnnie Jackson hoping for a customary impact in from the left.
A romantic night out it won’t be, but we’ll have enough about us to get back to winning ways overcoming a good side with a professional 3-1 win.
Come on you reds!

But after that goal we could have won it and as WSS said they are not on a great run.
I still think they will give us some problems but we'll have enough to edge a one goal victory margin.
LOL!
They seem to have tailed off a bit but can see the curse of the ex-player striking again with a big deflection. 1-0 MK Dunce, Charlie Mac with the goal.
i predict we will all be going home with a saveloy treat in our chip wrappers after this game... 3-1 haddocks.
Scorers BWP and then Waggy who comes on for the last 20 minutes.

Us, MK or the other half - that is the question!
Cries of "get in there big fella" will be heard around both the ground and my house as Kermit (winning goal) and myself hit the spot respectivly.
:-)
Believe
What team have they been watching all season?
Charlton won't have played for 14 days, but then MKD won't have played for 10.
So either teams match fitness will be much of a muchness.
We know MKD will make a game of it; it's about Charlton ensuring they have that mental edge.
