    i know ur joking, but i work for Christies and im surrounded by expensive art all day and im certainly not middle class.

    does make me cringe when i hear specialists talking about a piece tho. complete and utter waffle.

    There's an artist I really like called John Greenwood - like a sort of modern cross between Tanguy and Kay Sage - abstract surrealism. He never seemed to get any respect after a brief bit of exposure from Saatchi's patronage and disappeared off the face of the earth. If I had ten grand to spare I'd commission him to paint me a piece.

    Naturally, I also like Kay Sage and Yves Tanguy, and Dali of course. Bosch & Bruegel are fantastic, along with Max Ernst and Joan Miro.

    Sadly, all the artists I like are somewhat out of my price range!
