No way will it be called off tomorrow. It's 50/50 as it stands, the most important factor being not what comes out of the sky tonight but the overnight temperatures.
What about 62-63 when we had no football for three months.........I think The Cardiff game got called off three or four times at the last minute......I think the season was extended to the middle of May or perhaps later still.

This is true. After Dec 22, we didn't play again until Jan 19, v Southampton, when the game was abandoned after 57 mins due to snow. We managed to get a game in on Feb 9 (and wished we hadn't bothered in a 0-0 draw v Bury). Then there was another break until we played Norwich on March 2.
So between Dec 22 and March 2, we managed to play one completed match.
The season was extended until late May, but still the weather wouldn't go away. On May 21, we were playing Walsall and the game had to be abandoned at h/t, due to a waterlogged pitch!
Young folks today just don't know they're born. My word, you had to roast your conkers around a brazier back in the day, otherwise yer'd freeze yer ruddy nuts off...
If my memory hasn't failed me the temperature stayed below zero for 6 consecutive weeks. I remember being on holiday in late May or June and the FA Cup final was just being played

Another winter like that, and we won't get promoted until after John Terry's trial :-)
Had a little snow in Sheffield tonight, but only a dusting around 7-8pm. It's around -1'C now, so only a slight frost tonight i reckon. Still plenty of lying snow on open fields.
The problem is Friday night. Clear skies are forecast with temperatures ranging from -4 to -7. These are air temperatures. Charlton were saying that ground temperatures are 2 degrees below this.
So we have ground temp forecasts possibly of between -6 to-9.
On that basis, there's no chance.
Only hope, is that we get some cloud cover & the expected temperatures aren't as bad.
I have advance purchase tickets so will be committed to going tomorrow if still on overnight. Can see myself at Bramall Lane. Hope game called off today to make things easier!

Same here mate! Thing is i'm totally skint at the moment, don't know whats worse, losing £55 on the advanced bought ticket and train or spending an extra £50 if the game is on!
Got £200 worth of non refundable train tickets stuck on my credit card as well, looking at those pictures it ain't happening is it. Hopefully will be called off at ther 1300 pitch inspection then the best we can hope for is that the trains are cancelled as well.
