Childrens party HELP!!

My daughters 5th birthday is in May so i am now looking into ideas, have a good idea on the venue that we want to hire but am struggling with the entertainment. Anyone have any recommendations for childrens party entertainment? Dont just want to book anyone who could turn out to be bad.

I have tons of experience with this lol. Five year olds are full of energy but without an awful lot of concentration, I say big hall lovely big bouncy castle and maybe someone face painting. If you want to make it very fun make it a fancy dress party little girls love playing dress up. I got plenty if experience as I said message me if you want more suggestions such as party bag fillers, games etc
  • mrs back to front or somthing like that, google her shes very good with the kids partys
  • Bouncy castle - all day.
  • We had a woman called Jojo Entwisle for my son's 6th birthday, and she was absolutely brilliant. Not the cheapest, but she does the lot - magic, face painting, games, music - the parents just relaxed & watched (or drank!). She'll tailor what she does to your requirements, if it's a themed party or something. Her number's 07815 045007.
  • Gambardo in Beckenham. Softplay, bumper cars, merry go round, food, music about 16.00 a child.

Yep, we had her a couple of years ago on a recommendation and as you say, she's very good.

Seriously - if you have one of these things beware litigious parents! Make sure you have full insurance.
  • there is a kids play area at The Waterfront in Woolwich - climing frames, slides, soft play area etc. All self contained. Used it a few times and kids love it. They do parties with food etc.
  • I've heard that Madonna is available

Mate's missus does facepainting. On facebook - facepainter eltham (need to send friend request to see pics*) - or email debis1@ntlworld.com
Apparently opened for viewing at the moment (not normally as others nick ideas!).
  • Thanks for the suggestions, very helpful. Jojo Entwisle sounds the most appealing, was thinking of gambados originally but you have to pay per child and due to having school friends etc it is difficult to try and put a number on the amount of children that would turn up. Managed to sort out hire of place relatively cheap so more funds available for a decent entertainer or bouncy castle etc.
  • We've had this fella a few times now for our kids parties

Very funny and takes the pss out of the parents as well
  • Same as Clem, go to Gambardo - they go mental, they get fed and you can sit around drinking cups of tea/coffee...
  • Tiger cubz Thamesmead is good for that age group
  • Update with more info:

  • A bit more of a boys thing, but 'Firepower' in the Woolwich Arsenal is very good.
  • Gambardo in Beckenham. Softplay, bumper cars, merry go round, food, music about 16.00 a child.
£16 a kid you must be feckin rich
  • Steer clear of fizzy drinks, crisps etc..anything with a high sugar levels.....it gives them an instant energy boost and sends them through the roof, then the mob madness kicks in.
