Chunes - Giants wanted to run the clock right down then kick an easy field goal to get the lead with no (or nearly no) time left. Failing to do that has given the Pats a tiny, tiny chance of coming back

Thanks. I didn't really get it because I thought a field goal would've tied it!
No expert but the Giants QB was pretty impressive.
What a ridiculous way to score the winning points in a Superbowl though!
Entertained me for 3 and half hours, but still didn't get even 1% as excited as do for even the shittiest Charlton performance in the most low wattage of fixtures.
Great finish. Pats penultimate drive they decided to run the clock down but forgot about moving the chains. Negative play cost them and left manning four minutes to do something he has done all year, score 4th quarter touchdowns. Giants deserved it.
Exiled - its all about playing the clock which is what the Giants wanted to do but failed miserably lol. They still won but only just!
No, I understand why he was trying not to score but he did score so it was an accidnet that they scored the winning points, at least at that particular moment. I just think that's pretty comical.
Lost my bet. Didn't stay awake to see the ending ( in fact I thought it would never end) . Has to be the worst sport I have ever seen . The most non flowing game ever invented. I wanted to like it , i tried , I really did but I'm afraid i realised after 4 hours it wasnt going to happen.!
You have to really get into the sport and understand what is going on to really enjoy it. Its like a game of chess where you are always planning your next move.
I agree the NFL is an acquired taste but if you have the patience you can see some exceptional sporting exploits. Like any TV sport it is easy to lose the perspective of just how impressive some of these professional athletes are. They are huge, extremely powerful and very very quick.
I have little time for the Giants, (no fan of Coghlan, maybe unfair but just seems a really unpleasant individual, nor Eli after his petulance at the draft) they were very fortunate to even reach the play offs - more to do with the now traditional Cowboys blow out, but credit where credit is due they got the job done.
Again though it was more due to the Patriots screwing it up than the Giants playing well though Pierre Paul was exceptional. The Manning - Manningham catch was outstanding but the safety, the 12 man penalty which effectively gave the Giants a 9 point start and then the Welker and Hernandes drops in the 4th quarter were key.
For me the less talented team won simply by making fewer mistakes but good luck to them.

This to a tee! I was in the states a couple of weeks ago, went into the hotel bar and the semifinal? (qualifier for the final??) was on, A couple of American chaps we were with gave us the low down, I gave it my best shot, I did, it has the razzmatazz, a big crowd and great camera work by the TV companies but they are only turd polishing 'cos it is utter cack, I would rather watch cricket than this, and that's saying something!! To balance it out the Yanks just didn't get the beautiful game! But they know who Rooney and Beckham are. Yet they had no idea who BWP was, I think they thought it was a sandwich!

To each there own but when I first watched it I thought it was utter cack as well because I didn't understand it. I think once you understand whats going on and you get into it you will realise that its a great sport. I think the Yanks prob think same about soccer and don't understand it which is why its not as popular over there.
Went to the SuperBash party at the o2 last night, gotta say american football fans are seriously boring and extremly geeky, flask and blanket brigade ahoy....I guess suited the o2 as the venue itself is a homage to america with just chain restaurants/bars and tack.
Best part of night was deff the live cheerleaders, will now be following st louis rams intensly, Megan got my vote..
The game was good wanted the giants to win, but when the patriots got a TD before hlaf time treally thought would swing in their favour and they would crush the giants but thankfully they didn't. Oh half time show was shocking what was madona doing??!!
