Living so far away I don't get the opportunity to see with my eyes much Charlton action. The little I do see has always contained some decidedly dodgy goal keeping by Hamer. Is this just coincidence or is he as dodgy as it has looked?
I'm in the same boat and I must say, i'm not sure whether to trust Hamer or not, he's always sounded promising but he's rarely given as good marks as the other players in the squad get and especially lately he seems to have made, as you said, "decidedly dodgy" handling errors.
i like to look at it like barcelona, they have said that their weak link is their keeper, im not saying hamer is a bad keeper far from it but without players like morrison and taylor in front of him i dont want to think about what could happen
We have the best defence in football at present and are setting club defence records as each week passes. hamer is part of that team and is the best we've got. we'll get through this season with hamer easy enough as has been shown so far. keep the faith. if powell thought he needed a change on the goal line, it would have happened. i like hamer, he may not look the best at times, but records speak for themselves.
on 5live tonight the commentator likened paddy kenny to 'a fan that has run on the pitch and pulled on a keepers jersey.' i consider him to be quality, but we won't be signing anyone of his pedigree until we're in the premier league.
How has he been 'dodgy'? This should be treated with the same contempt as the quote I heard last night when the fella behind me said we have been s*** for a while when Bury scored and then said we would struggle up at Rochdale in the same breath. Didn't even know we are at home to Rochdale!

I'd have him over de Gea any day (seriously).
