I'm sorry, he's from Barcelona....

Anyone else come home to have an inaudible message from some Spanish bloke ?

Despite having TPS, Llanera still manage to get through to try and flog me a home. Well i think that's what it is as i only understood about 10 words in the message.

So what i want to know is:

Did anyone else get a cold-call recorded message ?

How Llanera got my number ?

Whether Charlton intend to pass it on to any more 'business partners' ?

  • I haven't, thank the lord, i almost had a hernia laughing when he came onto the pitch. But seriously i also have TPS, but i have had messages from Steve Sutherland etc.

Seriously, an email to Peter Varney might sort this out for you, but, and this is the hypocrytical bit, it makes money for the club so, despite the principle of the matter, some might decide to let it go.

I doubt TPS is applicable to companies outside the UK? I'm aware that there are equivalents but maybe they just cant call residents of their own country?

What was the message all about? Was he trying to sell you something?
  • Of course i'll let it go, but its a cheek and don't do Charlton no favours.

No one complains about Llanera doing it, so they then pass on to T-Mobile etc, or use the membership contact capabilities when negotiating new deals with companies...

I'm with you AFKA- it's called rose (or Red) tinted glasses when it's "Charlton"

But fnancially it has commercial prospects for the club and therefore, maybe we would critisise them if they didn't explore all opportunities.

But- taking the glasses of-like you ( i sense) it pi$$es me off bigtime!

I got the call too, and also struggled to understand it.

Something I did hear, was that they gave a Maidstone phone number... therefore UK based so TPS should apply to them...

I think he was trying to sell me an apartment from just £7 a day, but he really could of been trying to sell anything!
  • I got the call and I'm 99% sure I ticked a box stating that the number was only to be used by Charlton when renewing my season ticket.

I'm very glad I only gave them a mobile number now. Cold calling really brasses me off!
  • They phoned me at work, but I was in a meeting, so one of my colleagues attempted to take a message, but gave up halfway through.
  • I've just picked up the message too - and I'm reporting them to TPS. I let the mailout pass me by, but I'm not tolerating cold calls.
  • i got the phone call last week. sure i did a thread on it...

blinking annoying. i get all excited thinking i've won something, then alas...
  • I love cold calls. I always aim to keep the seller on the phone for a whole episode of Eastenders as they always seem to phone then. My record is 38 minutes, had some idiot running around seeing if his phone company would bill me in euros.

  • I thought this was going to be anther thread with AFKA bemoaning his absence this coming saturday
  • LOL, have i mentioned i'm not here ?

I may have to cold call you Chris for score updates....
  • I can confirm that Llanera do have a Maidstone Office if you wanna go down there & have a good bleat about it ladies & Gents. I am sure you would all go down there ready to give it to them both barrells & walk out having just purchased a plot of land..! LOL
  • Here would appear to be the problem. Just filled out a resubscribe form for the Bulletin (why we have to do this is anyone's guess). Q16 is below - most of these style questions are split into two, ie 1. would you like to receive info from us, 2. would you like to receive info from selected business partners. So, with CAFC, it's either all or nothing...

Q16. Please tick this box if you DO NOT wish to recieve information from us or our business partners. PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU TICK THIS BOX YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE INFORMATION (I.E. TICKETS NEWS) FROM CAFC. NO I DO NOT want to receive info from CAFC or their business partners.
