Football Blog from a young writer

Have created a blog to write reports and articles on football. This is to help me with my desired future career of sports journalism. It would be greatly appreciated if you could take a moment to have a look, obviously its early days and the Sheffield United report is being written as i speak!

If anyone has any information regarding useful contacts i would also be grateful.

  • Nice. But if you want to use this as a reference for your writing capabilities, you need to get it subbed! Blog writing and journalism are very different things...
  • Thanks Jimmy, my interest lies mainly in reporting. But the journalism side is also something that i am interested in doing at university, so combining the two in one page seemed the best idea.
  • I've dropped you a PM on some further thoughts. Stick at it though - there aren't too many places to get in depth analysis of Charlton games!
  • Nice article but if you want to get on in this line you need to remember to insert the word "massive" every time you refer to "fooking Wednesday"
  • Liked your Wednesday match report, you certainly have talent so keep at it.

Just remember there's football south of the river when you're writing for the Evening Standard !
  • Have you tried getting in touch with Charlton Live?
  • i havent no, is there a contact i should be aware of?
  • I hope to go into Sports Journo too. I have been doing articles and stuff like that for a year, my tip is to just continue writing and the more you write, the more experience you get.

Also, check out this competition...http://www.barclaysfootballwriter.com/ Unfortunately i haven't had time to enter it due to other commitments but if you have the time, then you might as well go for it.
  • will do Stubley thanks!

There are several good Charlton bloggers already doing this kind of thing, you can look at what they write, and potentially contact them about links if you look at www.forevercharlton.co.uk

You should also be able to get your blog listed on there and then everytime you post something it comes up for all to see, and it is posted on twitter at the same time.

Best of luck. It can be hard to keep motivated some times but I'm sure you'll find it worth while if you have enough enthusiasm to keep going.
