I think 90 points will probably get you promted - even this season. Of course our ambitions are a lot higher - I think we should be aiming to break 100 points which is perfecly realistic.
I have a vested interest in this one as I'm back in England for a visit in April. Taking in the Oldham, Walsall and Carlisle games. I'm hoping it's one of these 3.
Well we are now on 63 points and with every game that goes by we hear more of the steel we have in the team and will to win add those to the skill promotion is very much on the cards so let's play the by what game will we be promoted. I still say wallsall
And if we do end up winning promotion before the end of February or whenever, you just know what Mr Powell will say to his players, "We just need to play 1 game at a time and get the 3 points".
Otherwise we'll get the infamous Charlton slump when we're only 43 points ahead - and end up finishing 2nd.
With the next 3 ganes we have, I can see the gap rising to about 15 points. What is so good about the gap being that large is that it takes away a lot of the pressure of being top and there to be shot down has on players. Where as second place is so wide open, the teams fighting for that automatic have an extreme amount of pressure as it is so close between them. I can see Stevenage putting in a surge for that position too.
Looking at our current points total, and our games left, i reckon we'll get promotion at Carlisle. Ideally, i'd love us to get promotion at home to Walsall on Easter Monday, and then the title at home to Wycombe two saturdays later.
The collection of the trophy has to be at the Valley and the club needs to have commemorative t-shirts available (Home to Wycombe would be nice) - also need to celebrate as big as we can - get some opera singers, juggling midgets, fireworks....the whole works. Feels to me like we haven't had much to celebrate for such a while that the floodgates need to open with this one!!!
Certainly by our final away at The Knobbers on Apr 28th.
Think the board should do the free buses for that game and get the whole of the Bill Shankly end which seats 6000 fans. Preston is a decent night out as well.
Let's get to the end of February first and see how many points we have on the table. Then check out what Sheff Weds & Huddersfield have.
Sheff Utd, like ourselves, are well in the groove ......12 wins from their last 14 matches, shows they have that all important promotion winning mentality.
the way its going it looks like early april. i would take it on the last day against hartlepool as long as we get the job done and out of this poxy league.
Would love it to be Carlisle just for the beers after with some Carlisle supporting mates, as at the end of last season they predicted we would be the next Plymouth this season.
think some people are getting ahead of themselves. 1 game at a time lads
With the team we have we could of been saying this in October, it's always one game at a time but the team proved again yesterday a will to win even when not playing well.

i could be wrong but i think the other contenders have a lot more games against eachother
but in the words of Quentin Tarantino "lets not start ........just yet "

I know they did it when we won the Championship as my nephew had his pic taken , goodness knows why i didn't get one.
