Torres is seriously rubbish

edited January 2012 in General Charlton
Just watching norwich Chelsea he has lost it completely ... What on earth happened?

  • It's like his brain has gone ...
  • Spain's lack of forwards is seriously starting to worry me for the Euros. Villa won't be fit even if he recovers, Torres is a busted flush, Soldado is unproven and looks overrated for me and Pedro can't play up front unless he's in a front three. Llorente has a lot on his shoulders this summer!
  • Bring Raul back
  • Llera's not bad up top
  • @JT

    I'll pretend I didn't see that...
  • Just missed a sitter from 7 yards... Literally went red after it...
  • And the refs bent ... Chelsea wind me up ... Refs dn incompetent..,
  • Would Mierles get on our bench? Seriously over-rated player.
  • Spain won the world cup without Torres contributing muchin terms of goals , replacing him can only make them stronger.
  • Xavi, iniesta, fabregas, silva, busquets and llorente with soldado, pedro, torres and possibly callejon (he is spanish right?) to come on, don't see much weakness there to be honest

  • None of those are strikers except Llorente, Callejon (who looks good in a Madrid shirt but is, in fact, pony) and the aforementioned Soldado.

And Spain won the world cup on the back of Villa.

Make that ANYTHING. He didn't score in the finals or in any of Spains qualifying games. He's only scored 2 goals for Spain in a REAL competitive International since Euro 2008 and that was a brace against the mighty Liechtenstein in a 2012 Euro qualifier.

  • Agree with Leroy. With no Villa and Torres so desperately off form, there's a serious risk Spain will have 80% possession but no cutting edge.

Still, if they keep the ball as much as they can they'll still have enough to beat most teams but the like of Germany will definitely fancy their chances as will any team who can stay resilient in defenceand try to nick one from a set piece or similar. They're certainly not the clear favourites they were for the World Cup.
