I was looking through our squad and I have to say that Powell has done an incredible job of not just bringing in the right faces but clearing out so many wrong ones, all this in only one year.
In fact what amazes me most about the Charlton squad all the way through is that after many many years I finally feel like I have an affinity with the team again and a genuine respect for just about every player that is part of it.
Whilst there are clear favourites, and mine are Solly, Kermy, Hollands & Morrison who are all excellent players but also all the sort of real "team players" who will walk through brick walls for you... I can't think of any one in the squad who comes across with any kind of bad attitude. Even those players who have not been involved much (or in some cases at all) seem to be "part" of the team spirit. I am not some one who follows Twitter but from what I read on hear the likes of Sullivan & Bover only seem to have good things to say about the club which is amazing given how little they have featured and another sign of what a great job Powelly is doing.
At the end of the season, IF we achieve promotion I guess a number of the more peripheral players will move on to new clubs and for once I will wish every single one of them (yes even you Doc) all the best of luck...none have let us down witht their effort and all have worn the shirt with pride when called upon.
Finally I am enjoying going to watch the games again, yes, of course this is a lot to do with a successful team and winning regularly, but it is also about the way we are successful; playing good, entertaining football, with a smile on their faces. It is also because The Valley (and away games) feel so much more positive, the crowd are up for it and making a lot of noise.
Even the Youth team is looking good with a few prospects coming through.
What a turn around from last season...players, fans, coaches, managers, board, youth team all seem to be heading on the same upwards tragectory.
Long may this period of stability and excellence continue and whilst, as Ohhahh would say "there is no room for sentimentality in football", I, personally will be sad to see any of these players depart whether they leave because we ultimately are successful and get "better" players to replace them or whether we ultimately are unsuccessful and some move on of their own choosing.
Powell really has done a fantastic job and all credit to him, let's just hope we can keep up this moentum for the rest of the season and move out of this bloody division.

The Valleys definetally better now its not a pit of hate and despair.
TBF he couldn't say anything else at the time.
All he needs is a bit of Midfield advice from Bexley Dan , and we're sorted.
