You did win a few mate, you got the Bellingham groundsmen who was a ex west ham schoolboy footballer as batsmen, you two used to open and for one season i think you won more than you lost,my dad even got double figures playing Elms. My brother Steve was even worse than my Dad never seen such a scared batsmen
I've known Kevin for over 25 years, he was also into boxing down at the Marvels Lane Boys Club where I played footy for a few years. Absolute top bloke, if I remember he doesn't drive and I ended up being designated driver in the early 90's on away games for a few of us which may of included Airman Brown... Anyway, I see him occasionally outside the Valley before KO, gives the team news out before announced etc. always a smile on his face, and always have a laugh about the old days!
Marvels Lane, eh? I used to play football for them as well. Do you remember old John Pearce and Peter Stepp?
- just a shame his youngest son turned out such an a++ehole>...:)
Millwall through and through n'all ;-)
Yeah, was there for about 5 years late 80's, played against Gordon Watson, all he ever done for Teviot Rangers was tap it in from 2 yards, I think he played with another fringe ex-CHarlton Mark Tivey if my memory serves me right. The manager was a Millwall nut, and he also got an ex-Millwall player around 1988ish called Paul Robinson to play sweeper, he was crocked to play pro, but just sat at the back yelling orders! Don't remember John or Peter sorry
Mark Tivey played for Kingfisher and Gordon Watson joined us when we were about 14 or 15. Both played for Charlton and both were Charlton fans as kids, as was i, which was a lot rarer in those days. Damien Matthews also joined us in the same summer as did Scott Minto.

You mean John the groundsman, don't you? Fella with a big tache?

That was a great laugh playing for Marvels Lane, we got bowled out for 13 once.
Our biggest bowling threat was John Pearce - 65 years old at the time - whose nude off breaks got past many an ugly hoik across the line.
I don't think we ever won a game.

Your memory is way better than mine, mate!
John Cowan, that's his name.
