Michael Morrison Man of The Match

edited January 2012 in General Charlton
See the Football League paper today - they made Michael Morrison Man of the Match vs Wednesday. It will be interesting to see if any Owlstalk react to that.

  • Go on their board & ask them lol
  • I think he had a good game after a slightly shaky start but he wasn't our man of the match. papers like to look for an angle! In the running for player of the season so far mind you. But so are a few others!!!
  • Actually on that subject I saw one paper give MM 5/10 while another had him a 8/10. Now I know that half of these reports are written by journalists who weren't even there but how can you make it so different?
  • i don't think he was far off man of the match - put himself on the line a good few times yesterday. Sort of bloke you'd want in the trenches with you.

Just thought it stuck it up em' after all the stick they have given him.

  • well he definitely did that with his performance, man of the match or not.
  • Classless because he celebrated victory apparently..............tossers
  • Daily Mirror has Chris Solly as our goalkeeper. No offence Chris but you are too short for this career change.
  • Hey Chris Solly is fecking quality and if he wants to go in goal then........no he can't he fine where he is. My Man of the match is Powell for putting out 'his' best team and motivating them after the Fulham game to turn in a possible season defining performance across the team. This just gets better and better!

I was very happy with Michael Morrison given the circumstances of the game, so often a player freezes when returning to an old haunt but as said above he threw himself in front of the ball whenever needed, not sure I'd want him in the trenches though Bexley Dan, would prefer someone who has completed his sniper course, was able to rustle up some bully beef and a few woodbines on demand, throw grenades like an outfielder and I am not sure how well he can read a map? :-) The entre back four is better then anything we have seen for ages and I am now really starting to believe!

  • The Sun and Sunday Mirror gave him a 5?!!!
  • I thought Morrison played well, but Taylor was outstanding IMHO.
  • probably the same bloke scoring for both papers. Maybe the 5 was due to his ' IMO understandable' reaction
at the end - a bit wierd otherwise!

I'd prefer someone good at pushing buttons
