Sheff Weds through and through, so he says ......but in the next breath, he'd have no qualms about jumping ship:
"As such I've been here 11 months, and if results hadn't improved in that time I'm not stupid enough to think I'd still be here, so if another club came in, and it was better for me, I wouldn't be saying, 'No, this is my club'."

It's no wonder the fans are deluded, the manager is as well :-
"I believe I'm a more talented manager than some who are currently working in the Premier League, and I'm ambitious to work at that level again. But however you feel about Wednesday, it is a huge club. Beating West Ham wasn't giant-killing, I don't think Sheffield Wednesday will ever play a game where you can say it's a giant-killing. If we play Manchester City or Manchester United, we are still Sheffield Wednesday and not too long ago we played those games twice a year."
Didn't he go 18 months without a job then got the Leicester job and jumped ship before the ink was dry on his contract for Bolton whose fans showed good judgement by hating him from day one.
The bloke is just a complete knob, i hope that he just stays in a two bob northern out fit like wednesday for ever because then they will see how Massssive they are
We don't know Megson personally so can only dislike him as a manager. What I think sums him up is that if he found a loop hole in the laws of the game that meant players could shoot opponents, I'm sure he would provide his teams with guns. This is the heart of my disapointment with Wednesday - they are to me the biggest club in the division but play a game that a team with their resources shouldn't. They should IMO have more creative players and try to play the beautiful game- I would be more lenient about smaller teams playing to their strengths but Wednesday should be above that but at the end of the day, Megson is that sort of manager.
They are clearly one of the stronger teams in this league but they have got there through short cuts which will only get you so far. Huddersfield, Sheff utd and MK Dons are more what I would call football teams.

And I'm sure if a Charlton player grabbed the arm of an Owl to wrestle the pistol from their grasp, the home fans would have wanted them arrested for assault.
The interview I read about Megson (think it was the Independent article) had him going on about "making the best of what we've got" as an excuse for his style of football. I'm inclined to agree with Muttley here, as Megson had a chance in the summer to sort out his side, and who he wanted to bring in. Semedo and Prutton were his midfielders of choice, which suggests he is not interested in playing passing football. I don't know how long he can use 'lack of resources' as an excuse for his poor style of play, and ultimately his own tactical failings.
For me you have to have standards - I admire managers like Dario Gradi who despite little or no resources try to play football the way I think it should be played, whether they succeed or not they don't compromise. Then you have the John Becks of this world where the end justifies the means -any means! Not saying Megson is as bad a Beck was but he is a million miles away from Chrissy Powell. Chrissy tried to get us playing in a way the players couldn't quite manage last season but he tried all the same and then got players in that could. His football principles clearly drive him. Megson takes the short cuts when he sees them but it doesn't get you the rewards in the long term.
I'm all for an ugly and physical style of play when it is required, but to set it up as your primary tactic is poor. Winning ugly is something you do in the face of adversity, everyone prefers to play with style and look good if they have an opportunity to do so.

Let them know they won't get away with that sort of thing, before rising above it.
Love it.
The answer is the sole reason I wouldn't dream of wasting time arguing with a Wednesday fan, it's a no brainer.....
Pathetic.
Ginger & a bad loser...he must be a whizz with the ladies.
Gary Megson reflected on the Owls' first home defeat of the season and hailed Charlton as the best side seen in S6 this term.
Johnnie Jackson's stunning free kick proved the difference in a scrappy encounter that saw the Addicks cement their position at the top of the table.
And Megson said the Londoners' position at the summit is exactly where they deserve to be:
"Charlton are the best side we have played this season. They have set the pace from day one and you can see why.
"The last thing you can do is give a well organised side like Charlton a goal start but I have to say it was a terrific strike.
"We huffed and puffed without causing them any real problems and too many of our players were under par.
"Most of our lads were ten per cent below their normal game and you can't do that against anyone, let alone the league leaders."

Even though he dose admit all the stuff Oriental said.
Great minds.....

It certainly makes you appreciate the quality of man and manager we have in Chris Powell.
