Train to Chesterfield

edited January 2012 in General Charlton
Anyone order theirs yet? www.footballgroundguide.com reckons 30 mins walk to station so don't know whether to chance the 17:39 home or not?!

  • The 17.39 will be fine, It is about 30 minutes walk. Walk to the ground to gauge it but it is okay. A mate of mine went to their first game at the new ground
  • Get a taxi and it looks like you'd be fine
  • Cheers, went ahead with the 09:55 there and 17:39 back! Only £24.40 with a YP Railcard.
  • Doesn't look 30mins walk on the map.

Myself and romford_addick are on the 17.39 coming back.
  • We're on the 10.25 & 17.51 back
  • Been many years since I was there but seem to recall it was more than half an hour walk ... but then again I was never that sober up there ;-)
  • How much are the trains?

According to the Brentford programme they still play at Saltergate...I was amused by that
  • be nice to see their (almost) brand new stadium .. I am told it is a bit 'lego/ikeaish' but with good facilities and good viewing. I've a soft spot for the Spireites and hope that they can stay up this year .. AFTER we beat 'em
  • looks pretty similar to Colchesters and Shrewsburys grounds

what the Americans call 'cookie cutter' stadia
  • My Daughter Lives in Chesterfield, so I know the town pretty well, the ground is situated about 1 mile north of the station just off of the A61 trunk road to Sheffield adjacent to a huge new Tescos.

Needless I will be there for the game with a nice billett booked for the night. It will be nice to go to a local if we win, with my Liverpool supporting, Chesterfield born Son In Law. If we loose I will stay in doors and get blotto there instead!
