To run for french presidency...

  • Stranger things have happened:

  • I thought he hated the French!?

Tell me, Future Boy, who's President of the United States in 1985?
    Ronald Regan
    The actor?
  • Well he gets my vote every-time for kicking the Palarse fan.
  • Guess he misunderstood about kick-starting the economy.

I reckon he just got jealous of Henry's return though and tried to go one better. Always did like the drama old Eric
  • The diplomacy would be interestin. Where Sarkhozy left Cameron hanging when he went for a handshake, Cantona would kick him in the chest.
    Quite an appealing idea.
  • Love the "new" Cantona 1664 advert.
    "Of course....oui !".
  • "My favourite moment in football? ..... when I kicked the hooligan"
  • Best ad on TV at the moment.

No other song about a non-Charlton player I enjoy more than singing his name at Selhurst.

  • I'd vote for him if I was French. Just for that one special reason......
  • Love his new Kronenburg advert.

I dunno, do like a bit of Perry Suckling.

Forgot that we were singing that outside the station a few weeks ago whilst watching the goals on a phone. 'Oohhh...'

The Kronenbourg advert: first, the stuff we get in the UK is brewed in Manchester, so that ad is somewhat misleading in its suggestion that the farmers of France have some form of connection to the product advertised; second, I wonder how many lager drinkers previously assumed they were getting a pure german brew because of its german-sounding name and will now be put off buying it because it's merely a french brand?

Not many, probably just you. Why would anyone think Kronenbourg was German?
  • ....I just like the advert......

But are the hops grown in Manchester? The only thing grown in Manchester for recreational use are cultivated in attics using UV lamps....................
  • He got my vote after the incident with a palace fan ;)

Well, I knew it was French, but in answer to your question because the word sounds very much like Kronen-Bräu or Kronburg maybe?
  • I really like Cantona he kicked a Palarse fan, played the game the way it should be played and showed he had a great sense of humour in "Being Eric" great man, great player
  • So, (trying hard not to get this thread closed down for legal reasons), why did Cantona leave Leeds rather than, say, Lee Chapman?
  • Cause Fergie didn't want to sign Lee Chapman.

    Next question?

Amazing to think he only cost Utd £1m as well. Absolute bargain, even in them days.
