  • Der gullible touristen?
  • It's called The Oktoberfest

Funny old place, although good for the reasons stated above!
  • Zeppelins?
  • Talking of Sat night. Where did you disappear to? We were sat there for ages waiting for you to return
  • That place looks awesome!
  • Had a few in there after the game. Pool table, good beer, friendly staff and lots of seating. Good place

Friday nights in Katzejammers (German beer kellar underneath Borough Market) and Saturday nights in Oktoberfest, Fulham, there is an (English!) Oompah band playing rock & pop in an Oompah styleee. I'll admit I know one of the band, but it's a good fun night.

    Oompah Brass - 9 to 5
    Oompah Brass - Smooth Criminal
Oompah Brass - Paranoid (Black Sabbath)

We're going here on my stag do next year I think, on the Saturday night.

But I've got a query for all London familiar Addicks as I'm more a Kent lad. As we're staying in Fulham to be close to the Fest, we were thinking of going out in Fulham the night before, too - there's a couple of decent looking pubs, a Bodeans to eat in etc. What I was wondering is will it be a bit too Rah for 15odd lads from Dartford, Whitstable, Canterbury etc?

Would rather just walk round there than get the tube into Covent Garden/Soho etc, but don't want to be surrounded by Sloaneys and snobs all night rather than having a laugh.

Would want pubs and maybe the odd bar, not any pretentious £20 a cocktail place, but if we try to stick to the pub type place (Look for "The White Hart" type names instead of the secret squirrel fashionable places), will we have a decent night over that way?

Oh, and we may well be in fancy dress as a fox hunt, I'm told!

    Cheers in advance.

Fulham Broadway itself isn't too 'rah' at all, so places like Bodeans, Broadway House etc will be perfect. Bodeans is always bloody crowded, and I'm not sure they take bookings so you may want to check first. Theres loads of pubs around the area, and then clubwise the Slug@Fulham Broadway gets really lively and is great fun, which is probably your best bet for a non 'rah' night around the area.
  • That's what I was hoping.

Lazy Fox looks decent too - "beer wall" of real ales.
  • Wander down the Fulham Road a bit to Parsons Green and you've got the White Horse aka "The Sloaney Pony" great beers, plenty of space (not tried food) and other side of green is Duke of Cumberland, excellent Youngs.
  • Used to work around there, but it was a few years back. Plenty of choice Adam and not a bad place for a pub crawl.

There is/was an Irish gaff opposite the tube (Brogans) that was alright as a meeting point and a cuban type place that did cocktails where folk used to cut a rug or two.

Fantastic place, but if it's a nice day I wouldn't even consider going to The Sloaney Pony as it gets absolutely rammed and you'll just be standing around. If you want to do Parsons Green, head the other side of the green and go to Aragon House, which is much more spacious and has a huge beer garden.

Cuban place is Havana's which was great, but has now made for the Slug @ Fulham to reopen.
  • So you don't want it to be too posh or Sloaney but you'll be dressed in hunting pinks.

How does that work then, tallyho!

I know, guess that's half the joke!
