Usually do the same as you, but via the trainline.com.
  • £24 is the cheapest return ticket i have found, and that would mean getting on the 7am train out of Kings Cross.

Anything later , for the same price?

  • I'll add that i was having a look at Bournemouth trains on the 3rd March. There are plenty of trains that are £10 each way on the day of the game.
  • Cheapest I can see is £20.95 out & £13 back = £33.95 ?

yeah, one of my mates use them.  I go direct to whichever line I am using, 10 weeks in advance then start looking.  Bournemouth away use megabus as you can go by train.  By the looks of it you will be able to go for about £7 return

That is with southwest trains, a fair price as well
  • Cheapest I can see is £20.95 out & £13 back = £33.95 ?

Southwest trains and if with a NSE card should get it for £10 each way.  Keep going on the megabus site each day until the 3rd March is available and then the £7ish return tickets come up

A very quick way to get around and very cheaply.  This is still the age of the train!

Generally speaking with virtually on all the train companies there is no credit card charge, don't know how long that will be for though!

No that's Hudds I'm talking about, unless I want to get a 7am train & arrive there before breakfast  :-(

Apologies!  Well I booked today on the 8.03 out and 18.35 back for £21.80, my mate booked later and cost £26.  This is unusual to happen on first day but this is a popular line with not the frequency of Virgin so not so many tickets
  • Living in Devon kills it for me. It costs a fortune to get to pretty much all grounds.

    I can imagine, two options.
    1...Move to London
    2...Support Exeter

I Keep get told that the seats aren't available anymore.

"There are no more seats available to reserve for your chosen ticket on
the return service. The service may be full. Please change your service
or ticket selection using the Return to Search button on the left."
  • Just brought my ticket, £25.
  • Booked the seats I wanted at the price I wanted, the site was just playing up last night. £23.90,  cheers ElfsborgAddick. It's good to see someone who's critical about our away turnouts being pro active about it.

  • i'm in it for the long term friend or defoe nurturing my 3 boys , soon to be 4 boys into becoming addicks , gotta put some family time in now and keep the mrs sweet and in the future there will be 5 regular travellers to all away games

    it's a marathon not a sprint

  • You have to get in fast cos there will be Hudds fans on the connecting service.

How much would the coach cost?
  • Good heads up elfsborg, it's really frustrating paying over the top, forward planning is definitely whats needed
  • Thanks for the link really helpful.

Troble is booking in advance is what to do if Sky move it..............
  • I'm sure I've read somewhere we can't get anymore televised league games as 3 is the maximum for the season
  • That east coast website is really shit.  Not user friendly.
