West Stand Singing!!!!

Well done to the west stand today for making some noise,

Ended up next to the drummer, as i couldnt get into the north upper,

Got some funny and '' Oh god no '' Looks from some of the West Standers at first, was quite funny, but as the game went on, everyone near us got really into it!

Also Well done to the few people in the north upper, we could hear you quite alot, so whoever said the north upper is bad for acoustic's got that wrong!

And lastly well done east stand! good to see all corners of the ground getting involved in the atmos today!

  • I ended up migrating from the north to the drummer in west too, enjoyed it there and view wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be
  • More power cuts please... ;)
  • The views much better in the west , more so than the north, its also much quieter in the west ;-0

If i'd have known they were going to let the 'Hoolies ' in from the West Stand beforehand , i mighta given this game a miss ;-0

I thought they only admitted people to the West if they had a flask ;-0
  • lol! i was worried with how it was going to go down  the way people looked round when they saw two drummers there!

I didn't realise they were from the North Stand , i thought someone had got a drum kit for Christmas!  ;-0

The more noise in the west stand the better.
  • North Upper was rocking at Half Time and the 2nd Half even though there was only a couple of blocks still populated.

  • You're bounce at half time looked pretty amazing
  • Maybe we need a drummer in each stand every game...
  • Why do away teams always say how quiet it is though

  • Yes generally it seems and I find when I sit in the west its pretty quiet

Yes it is of course...but the view is much better...particularly from The Upper....brilliant in fact.

The age group tends to be older....but that's the same in all grounds just about, in that the main stand is usually quieter. I don't know why folk crack on about it so much, because it's hardly surprising is it, it's simply where folk who are not so loud and raucus as they once were like to go. They are no less good fans, most of whom have done with their days of 'hollering and shouting' or who simply like the best view in the stadium.

Even when I was a Covered Ender (for many a mad year) I never really liked being behind the goals as far as viewing the game was concerned but went there because of the atmos and the folk I knew.

Also a lot of the folk in The West are ex Covered Enders......and I can assure you many of todays Covered Enders will end up someday having season tickets in The West.......it's simlpy natural progression.

  • No what I'm saying is I can't hear the covered end in the west, I wouldn't expect the main stand to be singing either I agree
  • You must have ear muffs. I hear them loud and clear> well done to those on saturday, made a lot of noise for only quarter full
  • well its generally known as a quiet ground by others

  • Away fans always say they can't hear the home fans and vica versa - its because they're in the middle of a load of their own noise. The last few years, before this, has been fairly quiet but lets face it, what has their been to get excited about?

I always regard the response of Chris Powell to Chrissy, Chrissy give us a wave as a good indication of Covered End volume.
  • @SoundAsa£   Excellent analysis.
