  • Totally agree Rugby as soon as he came on the pitch against Leyton Orient the fans around me started huffing and puffing his every single touch!Just because he has not been in our starting line up for a while a pocket of our fans just think he isnt good enough!!!
  • Probably because most of his touches he gave the ball away when it needed to be held up.
  • Hayes has not got the strength or pace to do well for us.

His touch also seems rusty and he just doesn't float my boat

    Another Benno imo

  • Hayes has strength, vision and a great touch on the ball - he was immense at Colchester. He just can't jump.
  • Nothing like Benson really, apart from neither being quick or strong. Very different players when they have the ball.

Hayes can create chances for others, Benson is a goalscorer who keeps it simple when he gets the ball.

We were never going to sign 4 Championship standard strikers while at this level, at this level Hayes is fine as a squad player.

Some of the football we played at the start of the season with Hayes in the team was some of the best I had seen for years. He was immense at Colchester and Notts County away. Of course his going to be rusty he hasn't played in ages and the midfield had changed quite a bit since he was playing. Like Andy Hughes I think both have been harshly treated and both on occasions have been droped for new loanees who have only been at the club 24 hours (Clarke and Rusel) which I disagree with as this can only cause unrest.
  • Whilst Kermogant is injury free and playing as he is he'll never get a sniff.
  • I like Hayes, was harsh on him to be dropped and then lose his place to Euell on the bench

Start of the season he linked well with BWP, probably better than Yann does and got assists, problem he has now is he isn't the quickest therefore unlikely to change or make a big impact on a game coming on from the bench

I would love to see Haysey get back to the form he showed at the start of the season.
  • I feel a bit sorry for Hayes as we were doing very well with him in the side don't forget but it is difficult to argue that he is better than Yann. To be honest, I was a bit surprised Clarke came to us with the clear quality of our front two.

  • I don't care how pissed off he feels. He shouldn't tweet it. Undermining Powell's authority. I should think Powell has told him to shut up or get out.

    This
  • Just out of interest what would happen if any of us Tweeted about our own work suituations in a less than positive light?

Not aimed at Hayes in particular and I haven't seen what he said but it does seem that footballers and others in the limelight are treated very differently from the rest of us plebs who would probably find ourselves on the end of a fizzer from the boss if we said something similar in public.

  • Hayes is no good on the bench. He doesn't have the pace to change a game and his energy levels aren't able to change a game. He plays well when started. This is different from Kermo because he has a lot of energy and as we saw when we signed him, he can change a game from the bench. I am not saying drop Kermo because he's been immense for us but Hayes isn't the right player to bring on off the bench when we are chasing a game (e.g. Orient away). This is my opinion.

Hughes and Hayes haven't been fairly treated but they're both professionals and they should both get on with it.
  • How have they not been treated fairly? I feel bad for them but that's football, you have to pick the best players to win a game. If you don't, then you lose. If you do, you win, then you win again, then again, then again, do it enough and you get promoted and put the club on a better financial footing and keep your job. Kermorgant is far and away the best footballer at the club, and Hayes is a good but inconsistent L1 level striker. Hughes is a 34 year old utility man signed as such and has lost his place to all round better footballers.

The nature of the game is that you have to go with your best team, there's nothing else to it. If you can't deal with being dropped then frankly you can't deal with being a footballer. Anelka being told to train with the reserves, having to change in the academy facilities, being denied his parking space in the main car park and not being invited to the Christmas dinner after years of service just to force him to move as soon as possible, now that is being treated unfairly. Pretty sure Hayes and Hughes have still been treated properly

    This

The only thing I am trying to say about being unfairly treated is that they've both been dropped by unfit players.
  • I'd agree about that, but then I feel that Hayes is guaranteed a start against Fulham and the only way Clarke will get match fit is by playing football, so Powell put him in for a 15 minute run-out against Brentford. I could be wrong about that but it was my gut reaction
  • Hayes is a good player but he isn't gonna be starting because wright-phillips and kermorgant are the two main strikers but hayes is a good player and should be on the bench or starting 11 but at least he is pissed off because he wants to play unlike tevez

  • Tevez is pissed off because £250k a week isn't enough for him.

Addicks, had a look what was happening last night and have spoken with the person. We all have opinions which we always won't agree with.

It was about the Kevin Lisbie song. I think it's over now. Apparently Jason Euell Direct Messaged her.

Hayes hasn't been unfairly treated- Chrissy has to play his best team and how many would play him above BWP and Kermogan?  He is unfortunate as he is a good player and hasn't let us down but we need quality cover for injuries and he represents that.
